Enabling Rural Opportunity Network - ERONet

Enabling Rural Opportunity Network - ERONet ERONet is an Indigenous women-centered CBO working since 2014 in rural and post conflict setting

Fragility, conflict, and violence (FCV) present a critical development challenge that threatens efforts to end extreme poverty in both low- and middle-income countries. It is estimated that by 2024, the total number of extreme poor in FCV-affected settings may surpass that in non-FCV settings

For over 10 years, ERONet have had of strong presence in rural and post conflict settings working with wi

dows, abductees, adolescent girls & young mothers, orphans and people living with disability

Our mission is to alleviate suffering and create opportunities for sustainable development in rural and post-conflict settings, through multi-dimensional programs and services to reduce disadvantage amongst vulnerable and at-risk women and girls, and people living with disability

Ultimately, we envisions an equitable and inclusive world in which vulnerable and at-risk women and girls, and people living with disability achieve their full potential, living a life of dignity and self-reliance in harmony with the environment

Highlights from our recent Agoro Girls Sponsorship Pilot Visit

We recently hosted a three-day field visit to follow up on the Agoro Girls Sponsorship Pilot supporting vulnerable rural girls to access secondary education.

πŸ“ Day 1: Engagement with District and Sub-county officials and a visit to the school where the sponsored girls are studying.
πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“ Day 2: Meeting with the girls and their parents at the ERONet office to discuss expectations, mentorship, and support.
🏑 Day 3: Household visits to better understand family situations and strengthen community involvement.

The visit helped reinforce collaboration with stakeholders, strengthen family support, and monitor the girls’ progress.

Together, we continue working toward ensuring rural girls access, stay, and succeed in school.

ERONet has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lamwo District Local Government marking a significant step toward expanding support for girls’ education and community resilience in Northern Uganda.

This partnership strengthens our ability to reach vulnerable communities in Lamwo with integrated, locally grounded solutions that address the real barriers facing girls and their families from access to education to economic and social challenges.

For ERONet, this is not just a formal agreement. It is a commitment to scale what works:
βœ” Supporting girls to stay in school
βœ” Strengthening household resilience
βœ” Working directly with local systems for long-term impact

Lamwo is one of the regions where vulnerability is layered poverty, displacement, and limited access to services. Through this collaboration, we are aligning with district leadership to deliver coordinated, sustainable interventions that move communities from survival to stability.

We look forward to translating this partnership into measurable impact for girls, families, and communities.

πŸ“šβœ¨ Keeping Rural Girls in School

This week, staff met with our sponsored girls and their families to strengthen one shared commitment:

πŸ‘‰πŸΎ Every girl stays in school.

Education is not just a classroom responsibility, it’s a family and community commitment. During this meeting, parents pledged to support their daughters’ attendance, and the girls reaffirmed their determination to pursue their dreams. πŸ’ͺπŸΎπŸŽ“

When families, communities, and organizations work together, rural girls thrive. πŸŒπŸ’–

At , we believe that empowering a girl through education transforms her future, and her entire community.

🌱 Progress begins with conversations.

🌟 Change begins with commitment.

No running water.
No electricity.
No comfort.

This is where leadership happens.

While many executives operate from fully serviced offices, ERONet’s Executive Director, , works from the same rural and crisis-prone environments as the communities we serve.

At ERONet, we believe effective leadership is built on proximity not distance. Working in areas without basic infrastructure demands more than strategy. It requires presence, resilience, and a deep commitment to stand alongside vulnerable households facing poverty, displacement, and systemic neglect.

Understanding community challenges does not come from reports alone. It comes from frontline engagement listening, learning, and acting within the realities people live every day.

Passion is not declared. It is demonstrated through endurance, consistency, and service.

This is Laker Immaculate, a student at Lamwo Seeds Secondary School.
Life has not been easy. She often missed school because she had no sanitary pads, no lunch, no books β€” and no support at home to help her manage stress or stay motivated. Like many girls in Lamwo, she was on the verge of dropping out.

Through EEnabling Rural Opportunity Network - ERONets community programs, Laker now receives mentorship, emotional support, and the confidence she needs to stay in school. Her attendance has improved, and she now believes she can continue her education and achieve her dream of becoming a nurse.

There are still many girls just like Laker struggling in silence β€” lacking basics that should never stand between a child and her education.
We are raising $5,000 to provide school supplies, sanitary materials, counselling, and support for caregivers so girls can stay in school and complete their education.

Every donation no matter the amount helps a girl hold onto hope and continue her studies. Thank you for standing with rural girls in Lamwo. πŸŒΈπŸ“š
