Harriet joined IGF in primary school back in 2022, and is now in P5 class (grade 5).
She lives with her father and 4 siblings and each day walks 2km to school.

"I am happy to be a pupil at IGF because I have an opportunity to learn, make friends and receive support that helps me to continue with my education.. I want to study hard so that one day I can become a teacher and help other children".

Harriet is just one of 2,800 pupils studying at our primary schools. Each day receiving education, school feeding, clean water, health care and spiritual guidance.

Term 3! Yesterday we welcomed back pupils and teachers across our 5 nursery and primary schools, for the beginning of Term 3.

There were smiles and laughter as friends caught up after the holiday break.

We look forward to the new term ahead, and pray it's positive for all pupils and teachers 🙌🏼

Our children are currently at home for the school holidays, with many helping their parents in the field, digging, weeding, planting crops.

We look forward to welcoming them back in the classroom in mid-September.

293 girls in the upper grades across our 5 primary schools have received reusable sanitary pads, thanks to the generosity of Feed The Hungry and AfriPads. This practical gift helps support girls' health, dignity, and education.

Every girl deserves the opportunity to learn with confidence and dignity. Thank you for helping make that possible.

Exam week across all IGF schools as we come to the end of Term 2.
The pupils and teachers have been working hard all term, and now it's time to test them on what they have learnt, before they start holidays at the end of next week.

Preparing meals for the pupils at school starts with carrying large tubs of water from the borehole to the kitchen.
It's hard work—but it's done every day to ensure the children receive two warm meals at school.

On 25th July, thousands of people from across northern Uganda came together in Kitgum to celebrate the life and legacy of Mama Irene Gleeson.

It was a great day which included multiple activities; including the annual charity walk through Kitgum town to the main IGF site, the official launch and opening of IGF Health Centre II and the newly constructed Cold Chain Room, and a memorial service featuring performances by our pupils and children, and speeches by the key guests.

We were honoured by the presence of the Indian High Commissioner to Uganda as the chief guest, and a key donor and advocate for the health project from Australia, Michele Thomson.

We are grateful for all who attended in person or listened to the event on Mighty Fire FM radio.
The work of IGF continues, as we strive to improve the lives of the children and communities within our projects in northern Uganda.
