Safe Water Keeps our Children Attending School.

Today it started with one child saying, “Teacher …?… Water”
Teacher understood the language and as she decided to take her to our safe water corner, Many other children joined her.

We appreciate international for this life saving product serving over 165 children per day.

It is today that we participated in SCALE Project close out and dissemination event; while we considered ourselves only as the participants it came out loud with a great recognition as contributors to one of the most successful projects I refer to and a project I learnt from. We surely has a lot to copy a prove while we sustain this project model. Model is the best not only for refugee settlements but for all rural settings.
When comes back, they will not be surprised with our Transformative Learning Model at HuSA Model School.

Quoted from AL for Education Fellowship, a program from African Leadership Academy that is building me as an Education Leader.

From this Fellowship, we will be rethinking and cocreating Post-Conflict Education model at Humanitarian Services Action (HuSA) (HuSA) Nursery & Primary School.

Our design will incorporate Socio-Emotional learning with Whole Child Model and Project-Based learning to the Uganda National Curriculum framework from the foundation of learning and Education.

In 3 years from now, We will be graduating about 55 P7 refugee children who are emotionally intelligent, socially aware, and economically capable young leaders.

We can never achieve this alone!

I recognize and appreciate Norwegian Refugee Council for giving us access to classroom blocks formerly used for accelerated learning in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement. These classrooms will enable us to expand our classes to P4, increase our reach and come closer to our goal.

Our amazing P1 teacher, right from the community, turned a simple class on letter sounds into a joyful, play-based experience!

With just locally available, low-cost materials, the kids stayed engaged, laughed, learned and loved every moment!

When teachers understand the community, learning becomes natural.

As protection and integrated MHPSS are the foundation of our programming, HuSA recognizes that sports offer a powerful platform for protection, healing, and inclusion. This concept note outlines our proposed “Sports for Protection” project, designed to leverage sports as a tool to address protection risks, support psychosocial wellbeing, and strengthen community cohesion in Kyangwali.

Proud to be part of the , Cohort 5!

In just two sessions, I have already learned a lot from amazing education leaders across Africa. Seeing how DANIEL AMENY (Khalid) developed his school’s theory of change through African Leadership Academy program (AL for Education) inspired me to refine our own model at HuSA Nursery and Primary School.

I’m excited to improve our skills-based education approach, fully integrated with child protection and MHPSS and scale it from Kyangwali Refugee Settlement to other refugee communities across Africa.

The journey has just begun!
