🎬 Exciting Collaboration Alert!

Earlier yesterday, we were honored to host Wakaliwood (Ramon Film Productions) at the
Youth Inclusion and Empowerment Network - YIEN Empowerment Centre for a courtesy visit and partnership discussion.

Founded by Nabwana Isaac Godfrey, Wakaliwood has put Kampala on the global map through iconic films like Ejjini lwe’ntwetwe,
Who Killed Captain Alex and over 80 other productions.

In collaboration with Bayimba Cultural Foundation, Wakaliwood is rolling out a powerful project to train young girls and women in filmmaking across several districts—including Kayunga.

Through this partnership, YIEN will mobilize 200 young women (18–35 years), including:
1. Young women with disabilities
2. Refugees & internally displaced persons
3. Girls from marginalized communities

🎥 The program will offer FREE three-week hands-on training in film production, opening doors to storytelling, creativity, and economic empowerment.

We are excited about this opportunity to amplify voices, build skills, and create pathways for young women in the creative industry.

Together, we are shaping a more inclusive and empowered future through film.

Earlier today, YIEN hosted the 1st planning meeting at the YIEN offices with representatives from 10 participating primary schools in Kayunga District ahead of the Inter-School Climate Change Debate 2026, scheduled for 31st March 2026.

This year’s debate will be held under the theme:
“Addressing Climate-Induced Violence Against Children, Girls, and Women with Disabilities: What Must Be Done?”

The meeting brought together teachers and school representatives from private, government-aided, and special needs schools to discuss the debate format, expectations, participation guidelines, and how students will contribute to climate action and child protection conversations.

The 2nd edition expands participation to 10 schools, with a strong focus on inclusion, ensuring every school includes at least one participant with a disability or special needs.

Through this initiative, young people will:
1️⃣ Raise awareness about the link between climate change and violence against vulnerable groups.
2️⃣ Develop innovative solutions for climate justice and protection.
3️⃣ Strengthen youth voices in climate and social policy discussions.

We look forward to an engaging and impactful debate on 31st March 2026 as students prepare to become champions for climate justice and inclusion in their communities.

Today, we celebrate the strength, courage, and resilience of women and girls everywhere. At Youth Inclusion and Empowerment Network (YIEN), we remain committed to empowering women and girls including those with disabilities to lead, thrive, and shape their own futures.

From advancing education, menstrual health, climate action, and economic empowerment, we believe that when women and girls are supported, entire communities rise.

Let us continue to break barriers, challenge inequality, and create spaces where every girl and woman can dream, lead, and succeed.

At YIEN, we believe real empowerment starts with hands-on skills.
Through our Livelihood & Youth Empowerment Program, vulnerable young people are gaining practical, income-generating skills that transform lives — from dependency to dignity, from vulnerability to opportunity.

We are equipping young people with:
🛠️ Practical vocational skills
📚 Financial literacy & entrepreneurship training
🤝 Mentorship and life skills
💡 Confidence to create their own futures

This isn’t charity — it’s capacity building.
It’s not just training — it’s transformation.
It’s not just support — it’s sustainable empowerment.

Together, we are raising a generation of skilled, resilient, and empowered young people ready to lead change in their communities.
