Brass For Children

In the city of Butogota in western Uganda, Atukunda Gershom has set up a great project: musical instruments are provided to children from the very simplest backgrounds – they receive lessons and the opportunity to play music together, as well as, if possible, some food.

These young people are involved with incredible joy and enthusiasm, and Mr. Gershom truly deserves every possible support for his fantastic work!

Therefore, we are pleased to announce that on May 3, 2026 at 5 pm we will be holding a concert in the Church of the Redeemer in Bamberg, the proceeds of which will go entirely to benefit "BUTOGOTA BRASS FOR CHILDREN" in Uganda.

Musicians of all ages come together to have fun in musical activities with CULTURE EXCHANGES and LIFE SKILLS. Music Teachers and students from abroad share their musical skills with the Children at BFC through short and long term volunteer opportunities, gaining valuable teaching and leadership experiences.

Are you a musician? Do you perform? Do you work in music school? Are you an active volunteer? Organize a concert and collect donations for Brassforchildren.

If you organize a concert, we provide:

a video from BFC, dedicated especially for the institution/musician, where kids from BFC will personally express their gratitude.

oficial acknowledge or school/
musician and concert organizers
if school/musician undertakes to organize at least 1 concert a year, they will become an official partner of BrassforChildren, and such information will be put on our website.

Music is a heart of everything, Music is an easy way of bringing the attention of the young people and we mentor them in a rightful way. At BFC we use it as an income generating activity as well as a taping way to bring the young stars who are vulnerable closer for mentor-ship and discovering themselves.
