It is inspired by the fact that the world should be a better place for everyone regardless of their s*x, age, religion, colour and nationality.

LEADING CHANGE UGANDA is a not-for-profit organisation started by a group of young people in Uganda who want to create the change they want to see in the world. Leading Change Uganda is a registered not for profit, non-governmental organization started by a group of young people who wanted to create the change they wanted to see in the world among the children and women of Uganda. We strive to empower children and young women to efficiently participate in social and economic development through training, access to education and assistance with their basic needs. Many communities in Uganda, irrespective of the people in such communities, cannot access quality education, information or basic needs. This is because the majority of people in these communities live below one dollar ($1) a day. Education is at the forefront of our mission. We understand that education is one of the keys to getting people out of the debilitating and dehumanizing clutches of poverty. And yet access to education, particularly for children in poverty, is not always available. That is why provision of free education is of paramount importance to the communities we work with.

On 17th of July, we had opportunity to host the Assistant Chief Admistrative Officer (CAO) of Luweero District, District Internal Security Officer (DISO) of Luweero District and the Community Development of Luweero District who met with Wangari Women Group of Kikunyu Village. The visit was meant ro help them understand the work LCU is doing with women of Kikunyu village. The women were able to share their experiences of being part of Leading Change Uganda Programs.and some of the challenges they face as women who reside in Luweero District. The officials promised to build a borehole for the women at Ms. Nakyanzi Josephine 's residence the leader of the Kikunyu Women Group.

Our 2nd Quarterly Monitoring Meeting (April-June) with Buwaali Women Group. We had a Financial Literacy session where the women were taught using the Alphabets of Finance by our Finance and Administration Officer Mr. Nkalubo Micheal. The ladies presented the challenges and achievements faced during this quarter. Ms. Nandego Christine a member of the group was our Peer Mentor of the day who shared her journey to becoming a socially and economically empowered woman who has been able to change her life and community. She is now contesting to be part of the Local council 1 committee of Kabwama representing the women in her village.

Our 2nd Quarterly Monitoring Meeting (April-June) with Kibiike Women Group. We had a Financial Literacy session where the women were taught using the Alphabets of Finance by our Finance and Administration Officer Mr. Nkalubo Micheal. The ladies presented the challenges and achievements faced during this quarter. The ladies are working together to start a piggery project, where they sty shall be built at Ms. Namata's home the group treasurer. The project is meant to start in November 2026.

Our 2nd Quarterly Monitoring Meeting (April-June) with the Vumba Women Group. We had a Financial Literacy session where the women were taught using the Alphabets of Finance by our Finance and Administration Officer Mr. Nkalubo Micheal. The women showcased some of the crafts they have done in this quarter such as mats, hats and baskets using banana fibres and palm leaves.The ladies presented the challenges and achievements faced during this quarter. We are also happy to note that Ms. Joan Mbeiza who was trained in tailoring three years ago, started her business with support fromLCU, where by LCU provided her with a sewing machine. She is committed to giving back to the tailoring project buy sharing some of her profits.

LCU Emmergency Community Support Intervention
In a time where each of us has his or her own problems to sort out! Thank you for your prayers and hearing our cry for help. LCU collected One million shilling emergency support following damage of Ms. Nabakooza Dorothy a member of Kikunyu Women Group who lives in Kyabajwe village, Luweeo District whose house fell during the heavy rains that happened on Sunday on Mother's Day. The money collected is meant to support Dorothy to buy iron sheets and windows. Thank you so much for your kindness! Forever Grateful!

Today our Executive Director Ms. Lillian Nanteza was blessed to be the Guest of Honor to the first Graduation Ceremony at Vocax Startup Hub and Training Centre where the first cohort of the graduands graduated in cosmetology, Tailoring, hair dressing, public speaking, basic computer skills and catering services. Leading Change Uganda is in partnership with Vocax Startup Hub and Training Center to promote vocation education among the youth and women. We are happy to be working together ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Stephanie and Jason and Mrs. Rosetta Batsakis who donated items to Leading Change Uganda. Mrs. Batsakis donated calculators and a wallet of CDs with text books and worksheets on them for the Community Reading Club and the children of LCU while Stephanie and Jason donated books, colours and clothes for the children. Your generosity is bringing hope, support, and smiles to the women and children in our communities.
