This Wednesday, 29th April, we are organizing a community health outreach for Kamwokya II, central division, Kampala-Uganda.

It is aimed at linking young mothers aged 10 to 24 and their children to health care as early as possible. Early detection leads to early prevention.

Safe spaces matter. When children have trusted adults who will listen and believe their stories, they gain real protection.

JFCU’s advocacy camps and community outreach create these spaces — places where children and teens can speak openly, learn about safety, and build confidence.

Your monthly sponsorship helps keep these programs running, ensuring more children have the support they need to stay safe: https://shorturl.at/UBdcj

It's the start of !

Looking back at the last 50 years, immunization has saved over 150 million lives, with measles vaccine saving 94 million of those lives.

We have contributed to this figure by initiating community health testing events that have led to the vaccination of children under five from diseases like polio, measles and malaria.

For every generation, .

JFCU engages community leaders, educators and families in dialogue on and safety strategies through our evidence-based capacity building workshops. We help them identify and stage interventions within their local community. Every person who regularly interacts with children is made aware of reporting pathways so that children can be kept , whether that is at home, school or in the neighborhood.

Girls and young women often mistake abuse for attention, attraction, or even love. Abusers take advantage of power imbalances and a girl’s insecurities to gain control.

We can change this by teaching girls that their worth comes from their hearts and minds — not their bodies. When they understand what healthy relationships look and feel like, they are better able to recognize unsafe behavior.

Joy For Children Uganda works with families, schools, and communities to help girls build confidence, understand boundaries, and seek support when something feels wrong.

WE HAVE MOVED!
From Bukoto to Ntinda.

Excited is an understatement. Ecstatic should be the word!

Despite this physical shift, our mission to end violence against children in Uganda through capacity building, advocacy, psycho-social and legal support, remains the same.

Children are most often harmed by people they know. Abuse doesn’t always leave bruises — sometimes it begins with inappropriate behavior that a child doesn’t yet have the language to name.

Open conversations about good touch and bad touch, and about who is allowed to touch and where, help children recognize unsafe situations early.

Joy For Children Uganda works with families, schools, and communities to ensure parents, teachers, and leaders are trained as trusted adults who can identify, prevent, and respond to abuse.

Your continued support helps us stop abuse before it happens.

Discipline, not punishment, is the foundation of learning.

Joy For Children Uganda is reshaping the way children experience school—moving away from classrooms ruled by fear and toward environments where learning is positive, supportive, and respectful.
Together, we’re helping children grow through guidance, not harm.

A immunized is a child protected.

Vaccination has contributed to reducing infant deaths by 40% globally, and by more than 50% in the African Region. At Joy for Children we believe that every child has the right to access the highest attainable standard of health and access to health services. We have instigated various community health outreaches that have ensured that these health services are brought closer to the people living in marginalized communities. Through these outreaches, children have received treatment, immunization and psychosocial support.

Still, more efforts need to be done to ensure that the current recorded 46,000 annual child deaths in Uganda related to preventable diseases, are reduced to 0.
