FOUNDER:
Buka Chimey, I believe Africa’s time is now or never. Being raised by the community groomed me into a conscious community being, I always wanted to connect with my roots which I was robbed off and growing up from a cultural disconnected generation inspired me to reflect back to understanding WHO I AM, MY LINEAGE, MY CULTURE AND HISTORY and i have instigated dialogues with people from different walks of life, researched and had social media dialogues but the mass is miss informed and the biggest population in and out the continent does not believe that the time for Africa is now not yesterday or tomorrow but I do and manifest this by exposing it to the world following my destiny and purpose in life which is TO RESTORE MY GENERATION TO RECONNECT TO ITS INDIGENOUS ROOTS THROUGH CREATING, BUILDING, SERVING,EDUCATING AND ARCHIVING, Be the change you want to see. I WANT TO CHAMPION A MOVEMENT THAT CELEBRATES AN ACTION NOW AFRICA. To emphasize and champion an action now Africa. To celebrate life. To break the stereotypes civic and mental slavery stigma. To archive educational medial/material from the indigenous people for the people. To celebrate our freedom fighters. To envision a boarder less Africa through creating a network that connects and celebrates our united voices. To break colonial minds and groom rooted citizens. To expose the true identity of Africa, Africans and our culture globally. To revive our Ancient culture with modern solutions. AFRICA NI LEO THE MOVEMENT

Africa ni Leo’s strength is in sourcing educational archival material, African culture, indigenous authentic sounds from the natives of the land and boarder to boarder exchanges to emphasize and champion an action now Africa. We envision a boarder less united Africa. To us countries in Africa should’ve been cities in the continent and to us we value collaborations with our brothers and sisters all over the continent because we believe this will champion and draw us closer to our vision and since the work we do is not funded, we base on the creative capital and collaborations to emphasize an action now Africa. We believe the natives of the land/ indigenous people are well informed about our culture, sounds, chants, ancestral knowledge, social, economic, political, current situations and the best approach to source this wisdom is by getting to the source versus negative image being portrait by the western culture which is not well informed. We are gathering sounds, creating short films, documentaries and TV series that will be archived for educational purposes and this will draw. Since our long term vision is being able to host the Africa ni leo festival which will bring us together to exchange, network, educate and showcase these works. Stake holders with the same vision are always welcome to plug in since “we” are the Africa we envision and collaboration is key to us. We also carry out different lab (workshop) experiences. Africa has biasly been represented and now is the time for us to get on the front line and show the world who we are.
