The Uganda Fish Processors and Exporters Association (UFPEA) is currently hosting a high-level meeting with the GIZ Global Programme – Sustainable Aquatic Food (GP-SAF) to strengthen the long-standing partnership between the two institutions.

The discussions are focused on advancing Uganda's sustainable fisheries and aquaculture sector through collaborative interventions in fisheries regulations, Nile Perch Eco-Certification, aquaculture commercialization, and international market promotion.

Building on the successful achievements of the Responsible Fisheries Business Chains Project (RFBCP), UFPEA is engaging GIZ on strategic priorities for 2027 aimed at enhancing sustainability, improving livelihoods, and increasing Uganda's competitiveness in global seafood markets.

Together, we continue to promote a resilient, sustainable and globally competitive aquatic food sector.

Happening now at the Uganda Fish Processors & Exporters Association (UFPEA): Quality Assurance Managers Association (QAMA) members are meeting with Chemiphar (U) Ltd to discuss strengthening quality assurance and export competitiveness in Uganda's fisheries and aquaculture sector.

Key discussions include water quality testing, PFAS & dioxins analysis, allergen and hygiene monitoring, food packaging migration testing, and rapid testing solutions to support the industry.
