Clean water close to school means children spend less time collecting water and more time learning and staying healthy.

Access to safe water also helps childrenโ€”especially girlsโ€”remain in school, while reliable water in schools promotes better hygiene, improved sanitation, and a healthier learning environment.

To support this commitment, on 17 July 2026, Good Neighbors International Uganda officially commissioned six boreholes in six primary schools across Pallisa District, bringing safe and reliable water closer to thousands of school children.

The boreholes were commissioned at Top Community Primary School, Mercy Junior Christian Primary School, Kasodo Primary School, Clevers Primary School, Gogonyo Firm Foundation Primary School and Apopong Primary School

Good Neighbors International Uganda conducted a 2 day capacity-building training for 33 community leaders in Odwarat CDP, including 8 CoRPs, 18 VHTs, (CDC) members, and 5 LC1 leaders.

The training equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills in disease surveillance, household engagement, referral pathways, and health promotion, empowering them to better identify community health needs, mobilize households, and strengthen access to essential health services.

When community leaders are empowered with the right knowledge and tools, families gain better access to life-saving health services.

From 24โ€“26 June 2026, 30 members of local fish farming groups in Obutet CDP, Pallisa district completed a 3-day commercial fish farming training aimed at improving productivity and strengthening household incomes.

Participants gained practical skills in pond preparation and management, water quality monitoring, proper feeding practices, disease prevention, stocking, harvesting, and fish farm business management.

Equipped with these new skills, fish farmers are better positioned to increase fish production, improve the quality of their harvests, and operate profitable fish farming enterprises.

By investing in knowledge and practical skills, GNIUG is helping farming households build resilient livelihoods, improve food security, and create lasting economic opportunities for their communities.

This June 2026, Good Neighbors International Uganda (GNI Uganda) has distributed 7,186 mosquito nets to 7,186 children in Pallisa District.

This support, made possible through the support of Good Neighbors Taiwan and Good Neighbors Korea, will help keep children safe from malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases.

We are deeply saddened to share that Mr. Minho Choi, Representative of Good Neighbors Ukraine & Romania and former Secretary General of Good Neighbors Global Partnership Center, passed away peacefully in Romania on April 28, 2026.

In 2011, he was ordained as a pastor. The following year, he began his first mission with Good Neighbors, and what followed was fourteen years of life given fully to others.
