(2)

Nasser Bukenya (1991) started boxing in February 1999 and is amateur champion in his weight. He started in 2010 with two boxers, founded Nasser's Junior Boxing Academy gradually as a social cause in developing the sport of boxing in Uganda through the young generation. As a role model for around 45 children and youth with certain economic disadvantages in his slum area Zana, Nasser helps them to c

hannel their energy into something positive rather than taking drugs & pocket-picking. Nasser asked Jolanda van Wijk how to combine the academy with his boxing ambitions and since the beginning of 2015 they work together. In July 2015 they started a social development project for the families of the young boxers in need, aiming at empowering the community. In November 2015 they organised a charity event, Fight for Education and in December, 5th., 2016 they founded the NGO Zana Social Development Organisation (and one of the managing directors is founding Zana International City of Peace). Nasser is born in Zana ghetto with a drive to conquer world cities with boxing. He started boxing in February 1999, is amateur champion in his weight - 69 kg, is nr. 1 in Uganda (AIBA 2014 & 2015), great lake (2012)and East Africa (2011), nr. 5 in Africa and nr. 68 in the world rankings. Jolanda wants to contribute to a world where peace and love are available for everyone
