“Your thoughts shape your world—but they don’t define you.”

Last Month, during Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, our Team Lead Mugerwa Jr Innocent was featured on Episode 4 of Power S*x Money PodTalk, titled Mind Games to share his journey with mental health.

It was an honest conversation about the battles we fight in our minds—anxiety, self-doubt, and the silent pressures so many men carry.

If you've ever felt stuck in your head or unsure how to talk about what you're going through, this one’s for you.

"All human wisdom is contained in these two words—Wait and Hope." – Alexandre Dumas

We’re deep into The Count of Monte Cristo now, and one thing that really stands out is how much this book speaks to mental health.

Edmond Dantès goes through betrayal, isolation, and despair—things that can break a person. But somehow, he holds on. Not without struggle, not without pain, but with the belief that his story isn’t over.

Sometimes, life feels like that—like we’re stuck, like things will never change.

But Dantès’ journey reminds us that healing and redemption take time. That even in our darkest moments, there’s still hope.

Which fictional character gave you an unexpected jolt of encouragement?

Staring the week on a high because we had our first meeting of 2025 yesterday!

We were hosted by , a place that looks and feels like it was created for moments like these. Fun fact about our host: You are allowed to borrow one of the books on the shelves but only on condition that you leave a book behind that others can also borrow.

The Pearl Book Club is one of our Safe Spaces, created to encourage you to for yourself, read a book and connect with another person.

How are you taking a moment for yourself this week?
