Bringing Cerebral Palsy Rehabilitation Closer to Families in Kampala

Today at KCCA Kawempe Division, we are reviewing a full quarter of work on the Cerebral Palsy Family-Directed Rehabilitation Intervention Program (CP-FRIP) in Kampala.

Three facilities.

Hundreds of families.

Stunting affects 149 million children under five globally. But stunting is not just about being short for your age.

It is associated with increased illness, delayed cognitive development, reduced learning capacity, and a higher risk of chronic disease in adulthood.

At CFU Uganda, we are committed to understanding and addressing stunting in the communities we serve.

The MAGNUS study, conducted in Jinja, Eastern Uganda with the support of our Director Dr. Ezekiel Mupere, investigated what happens to stunted children's bodies when they receive nutritional support.

What the data showed was clear: children who went unsupplemented continued to fall further behind, not just in height, but in how their bodies were building tissue.

This is the reality that drives our nutrition programs.

No child should be losing ground while the world waits.

2 in 5 men will experience a mental health disorder at some point in their lives. That is not a small number.
