THROW BACK THURSDAY
One of the moments we are truly proud of at Milele Foundation was in 2021 when our tailoring class came together to make reusable sanitary towels for vulnerable girls in the community who could not afford pads.

For many girls, lack of menstrual hygiene products means missing school, losing confidence, and falling behind in their education. Through this initiative, our students used their skills not just creatively but compassionately. 🌸

What may seem like a simple sanitary towel became dignity, confidence, and an opportunity for a girl to stay in school.

This is the kind of impact we believe in: using skills to uplift lives and strengthen communities.

Today, on World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we join the global movement towards creating a . 🩸🌍

A world where menstruation is accepted as a normal part of life—not something surrounded by shame, silence, or stigma.

At Milele Foundation, we believe every girl and woman deserves dignity, access to menstrual health education, and supportive communities where they can thrive with confidence. 💛

Together, we can create spaces where conversations about menstruation are open, healthy, and empowering—and where no girl is held back because of her period.

From fabric to finished product

Our tailoring class at Milele School of Community has officially released a new set of their handmade bags.

What started as training is now becoming confidence, craftsmanship, and opportunity for many of our students. Every stitch tells a story of empowerment, hard work, and the journey towards sustainable livelihoods.

We are proud to see our students turning skills into products and passion into possibility.

At Milele Foundation, we believe mental wellbeing is connected to hope, opportunity, and community.

Many young people and vulnerable women silently struggle with stress, uncertainty, trauma, and emotional burdens caused by poverty, unemployment, and difficult life experiences.

Through skills training, mentorship, safe spaces, and community support, we are helping restore confidence, dignity, and hope.

This week at Milele School of Community, we’re shaping more than wood—we’re shaping futures. Through our carpentry training, young people are gaining practical skills that empower them to create, earn, and build sustainable livelihoods.

One of our students shared:
“This is so beneficial because it has given me skills and also helped me become more creative.”

From creativity to craftsmanship, every lesson is a step towards independence.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Bishop Titus Kisubika, who graciously served as the Chief Guest at our previous Milele School of Community graduation.

His presence, wisdom, and words of encouragement left a lasting impact on our students and the entire Milele community. He showed genuine passion for empowering others and uplifting lives.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his life. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire us all.
