MERCY SCOUTS
Mercy Scouts works in Uganda directly with scout groups and local villages to Change lives, Empower youths and Build communities through our activities. Among our projects is the SCOUTS STOP MALARIA project which fights to reduce the burden of malaria through our activities which are divided into three elements; (education, data collection and free mosquito nets distribution). This i

s done in relation to the scouts principles to which we adhere. (Duty to self, duty to God and duty to others). As scouts, we cannot stay insensitive to the fact that Malaria is the biggest killer of children under five who account for nearly 90 percent of all malaria deaths. It is estimated that a child dies every 45 seconds from the disease. Malaria is also a stronger force causing miscourages and maternal health problems in Africa and particularly Uganda. Together, we can fight malaria and change the lives of others who cannot afford to buy a treated mosquito net. We are trying to reach the goal of 5000 nets and every little helps. If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in bed with a mosquito. Join us in this struggle and be part of those making this world a better place. Donate a mosquito net and save a life. SOLUTION TO THE MALARIA PROBLEM WITH OUR OBJECTIVES IN UGANDA

Sleeping under a treated mosquito net can reduce the incidence of malaria by up to 90%. That is enormous, and the effect of hanging an insecticide-treated mosquito net can reduce the number of infective mosquitoes in a 300 meter radius around where the net is hung. The project mostly benefits the children and pregnant mothers in terms of free insecticide treated mosquito net distribution. Most of the people in the areas of concern are illiterate, poor and unemployed but with a visible potential and willingness to fight malaria and live a happy life. HAND MADE SCOUT WRISTBANDS

My scouts and I need your ideas, support and advice on how we can improve and contribute effectively to the villages. I came up with yet another idea with some of my scouts who are skilled in crafts to design scouts wristbands which we hope to offer to scouts groups/ friends and families for any fee they may be willing to donate in support of the SCOUTS STOP MALARIA Project. When we worked out all what it takes to get the wristbands to you, including posting them, it would be five dollars per wristband and we plan to use the proceeds to support the project in buying mosquito nets. With each wristband sold, we can buy one treated mosquito net at five dollars saving a life of a child. One fantastic thing about this project is how good it feels to bring something very concrete and life changing to the community with so little resources; not to mention the incredible gratification of seeing the children in villages using the mosquito nets. This is how powerful we can be! However what we achieve depends on the funds we manage to raise. 'Scouts Stop Malaria means Scouts action and responsibility and we all bear that burden.’ So do not turn your back, your wristbands orders or kind donations can reach us using the information below;

A Toast to Reliability: Welcoming 2026.
As we step into 2026, I want to pause the forward momentum for just a moment to appreciate what made 2025 truly meaningful.

This past year didn't just deliver more water; it delivered confidence. And while we love the satisfying sight of new water wells, let's face it, we do a lot of the hard labor, our success has once again proven that reliable water isn't built with infrastructure alone. It's built with reliable people.

This is the calculated core of our work: long-term, trustworthy partnership. When communities, local scout leaders, and our global network of WOSM, BP Fellows and friends of Scouting know that our commitment extends far beyond the ribbon-cutting ceremony, projects evolve into a dependable lifeline. That’s the power of teamwork through scouting.

This reliability is the silent game-changer. Across the places we serve, families are no longer gaining just access to water; they are gaining confidence that the source will be flowing next month and next year. That certainty changes everything:
• It changes how parents plan their day and provide for their families.
• It changes how children focus on their education instead of fetching water.
• It changes how local health workers care for their communities.
In short, the predictability of water gives a community permission to imagine a better future. That's a powerful return on investment. Stepping into the New Year.

Our vision for the coming year is crystal clear: water every person can truly count on, everywhere, without exception. It’s an ambitious goal, but then again, Scouts rarely aim low.

We will continue to move toward it by listening, learning from every challenge, and staying committed.
This work is strongest because of our unified global network and, most importantly, donors like you. Your generosity is the reliable foundation upon which every single lasting water system is built. It ensures we can consistently show up and commit to the long clean safe water cause.

So, let's step into 2026 together. There is still crucial work to be done, and there are still communities waiting for the confidence that clean, reliable water provides. Thank you for being an essential part of this enduring transformation.
We look forward to accomplishing great things with you, side by side, this year. HAPPY 2026.

Yours In Scouting
Gidds Bambaga.

Our children's Christmas party celebrations have been nothing short of legendary! We’ve had the absolute joy of hosting hundreds of little legends, where every single child was treated like a true VIP guest. It was all hands on deck as our scouts and community members teamed up to ensure every moment was packed with fun and smiles.

There was enough food and fizzy drinks to keep the holiday spirit (and energy levels) soaring! To everyone who donated: you were truly the secret spice in our festive recipe. We couldn't have whipped up such a magical experience without your incredible support.

Thank you for helping us make this season so bright!

Warmest Christmas wishes

The Joy of Clean Water: A Call to Action to Change More Lives! 📢
We are ecstatic to share the monumental success of the new protected spring water well in Kilulu B Village! The struggle for clean water is now a memory for these villagers, whose gratitude is expressed in shouts of pure joy, especially from the women and children.

This single well, was made possible by the incredible generosity of B.P Fellows, Spejderkaffe.dk, Scouts and friends of scouting. (A massive thank you to Tom Baltutis for accepting to hand over the new water well to the community!). It has immediately unlocked a brighter future. During the official handover, it was graced by Mugoya Uthman - Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Uganda Scouts Association (OFFICIAL). We saw firsthand what true impact looks like: children who will no longer miss school because water is now accessible in their village.

But the work is not over. While Kilulu B celebrates, countless other villages still wait. We know that as Scouts, we are committed to Creating a Better World—and that mission requires your help.

Join the Movement!

DONATE: Your contribution, big or small, directly funds the materials and logistics for the next life-saving water well. Help us replicate this success story.
VOLUNTEER: Lend your time and skills on the ground or in planning. Be a direct part of the team that builds a healthier, more educated future.
Let's make sure no child misses’ school because of water scarcity. Let’s turn joy into a ripple effect across Uganda.

Making a Bold Statement for Safe Water in Nabingo. Village.
During yesterday's visit to the safe water well construction site, a significant moment unfolded. Tom Baltutis alongside volunteers from Mercy Scouts and a dedicated team of Danish volunteers, were warmly welcomed by the community. We all had hands on to build the well. our collaborative spirit underscored a crucial message:
The water crisis extends far beyond basic necessities like drinking, cooking, and hygiene. It severely impacts food security, livestock health, income-generating activities, and the community's overall capacity for sustainable development.

Transformative Impact:
With access to cleaner, reliable water, the incidence of waterborne diseases—such as diarrhea, cholera, and typhoid—is expected to see a significant reduction.
A conversation with a 15-year-old in the village highlighted the most profound change: time. As she shared: "A close, reliable water source will return something I have never truly had: time. Time to study. Time to rest. Time to play. Time to be a child again."

The hours many children currently spend walking long distances and waiting in line for water are hours spent dreaming of a different life—one where water is accessible, safe, and easy to collect.
Together, we are restoring stolen child livelihoods, one clean water well at a time.

Our protected spring well construction is taking shape. At all cost,
As scouts, We will help raise the living standards and reduce mortality rates in communities across Uganda through the construction of safe, clean and sustainable drinking water facilities.

Focusing on constructing one community water well at a time, Scout can help end water poverty worldwide.

We focus on one child, one family, one village at a time.
