This Customer Service Week, we are celebrating customer service not only at the point of sale, but throughout the entire journey of creating a product a customer can trust. At CWEN, we recognize that for many youth- and women-led businesses, particularly those producing food, beverages, cosmetics and other consumer products, maintaining consistent quality can be challenging. A great product is not simply about what is inside the package. It is about ensuring that every batch is produced safely, consistently and according to the standards customers and markets expect.

That is why CWEN has trained a network of 100 on-demand Quality Controllers who can support entrepreneurs when they need technical quality-assurance expertise. Quality Controllers can help businesses strengthen hygiene and sanitation practices, raw-material handling, production processes, batch consistency, documentation and record-keeping, packaging and labelling, traceability, quality checks, and readiness for certification and regulatory compliance.

For a growing entrepreneur who may not yet have the resources to employ a full-time quality professional, access to an on-demand Quality Controller can make an important difference. It helps identify problems before they reach the customer, strengthens production systems and supports entrepreneurs to build products that are not only attractive on the shelf, but also safe, consistent and market-ready.

For us, this is also customer service. Every customer deserves confidence in the product they purchase, and every entrepreneur deserves access to the systems and expertise needed to deliver that confidence.
This Customer Service Week, we celebrate the entrepreneurs doing the work behind every product and the Quality Controllers helping them make quality a habit, not an accident.

100 Quality Controllers. On demand. Supporting better products, stronger businesses and more confident customers.

What happens when global expertise meets local entrepreneurial ambition?

Through our partnership with PUM Uganda, we recently connected seven SMEs within the CWEN Community with a Senior Expert for hands-on, tailored business support. The engagement went beyond providing advice it created space to examine how each business operates, identify barriers to growth, and develop practical strategies for stronger and more sustainable enterprises.
From understanding distribution challenges and business operations to strengthening governance, leadership, strategy, and market positioning, the engagement provided valuable insights into both the individual needs of entrepreneurs and the common challenges affecting growing Ugandan businesses.
Importantly, the learning did not stop with the seven SMEs. The PUM Senior Expert also worked with the CWEN team to translate these findings into stronger Business Development Services and support models that can create greater value for the wider CWEN Community.
This is what a meaningful partnership looks like, strengthening entrepreneurs today while building better systems to support many more tomorrow.
