MORE THAN SKATING. WE’RE CREATING OPPORTUNITIES.

Our School Skate Programme is a flagship initiative of Skating Club of Kampala, using roller sports as a powerful tool for education, confidence, discipline, wellbeing, girls’ empowerment and social development.

Through inline skating and skateboarding, we are creating spaces where children can learn beyond the classroom, discover their abilities, build life skills and dream bigger.

We are proud to work with Seeta Junior School, Aga Khan School and Pine International School, and grateful for their trust in making sport part of children’s development.

🎯 Our goal: Reach 2,000 children.
But our vision goes beyond the number. We want to build pathways for young people to progress from their first experience on wheels to national and international competitions, while using sport to support education, leadership, gender equality and brighter futures.

Transforming Lives through roller sports

7 SECONDS. 50 METRES. AND A MOMENT I’LL NEVER FORGET.

Today, as their coach, I watched two young boys remind me why I believe so deeply in the power of sport.

Leo, 7, and Mukisa, 6, have been working all week to break the 10-second barrier over 50 metres.
Today, they made it happen.
⚡ Leo — 7 seconds
⚡ Mukisa — 8 seconds
And yes… it was raining.

I was holding the umbrella while they stood there on their skates, ready to train. But they were not looking for perfect conditions. They were ready to work.

That moment made me proud—not just because of the times, but because of what those times represent.

Belief. Discipline. Consistency. Courage.
As a coach, my responsibility is not only to make them faster. It is to help them understand that they are capable of achieving things they once thought were impossible.

This Sunday, they will represent Skating Club of Kampala at the East Africa Inline Speed Skating Championships.
But honestly, the championship is bigger than Sunday.
We are building young people who are ready to compete, ready to lead, ready to dream and ready to change their communities.
I want to thank their parents, our partners, our coaches and everyone who continues to support the vision we are building.
These boys are only getting started.
And I believe their future is much bigger than 50 metres.
