In January 2026, educators from all four of Mwebaza’s partner schools gathered in Kampala for a six-day immersive professional development training with the Luigi Giussani Institute of Higher Education.
This was not a typical workshop. Ugandan-led facilitators guided teachers through what it means to educate from a place of human dignity and belonging. Together, they explored positive discipline, active learning strategies, critical thinking, and measurable lesson design. The result? Classrooms shaped by respect, curiosity, and confidence.
LGIHE has since conducted three on-site follow-up visits to support teachers as they put their learning into practice.
When you give to Mwebaza, you partner with our communities in Uganda and co-create change that lasts.
As you think about your charitable plans this tax season, here are thoughtful ways to invest in this work:
IRA charitable distributions (70½+): Allows you to give directly from your IRA. It may reduce taxable income and can count toward your Required Minimum Distribution while advancing teacher formation and student growth.
Appreciated stock: You may avoid capital gains taxes and potentially deduct the full fair market value. That can mean a larger investment in human-centered education.
Donor-Advised Fund grants: If you have a DAF, recommending a grant is a simple way to direct funds you have already set aside toward Mwebaza’s partner schools.
Cryptocurrency: Donating appreciated crypto may offer tax benefits similar to those of stock gifts while turning digital growth into classroom transformation.
We’ve partnered with FreeWill to provide a secure, no-cost tool to review these options and give in a way that aligns with your plans.
Thank you for investing in educators, students, and the long-term growth of our partner school communities.
