On September 19, our community gathered for the Mwebaza Annual House Concert and Live Auction, and together we raised $19,500, including generous sponsorships, to support cross-cultural connection and economic opportunity between Colorado and Uganda.
To everyone who came, raised a paddle, bought a ticket, or simply sat and listened, thank you. To our Board of Directors, our Event Committee members, and our host of volunteers, thank you! This event doesn’t happen without you.
Here’s the thing about a night like this: it’s never just about the music, the auction items, or even the dollars raised. It’s about what it means when people choose to show up. When you take an evening out of your life and give it to something you believe in, you’re telling us (and every student, teacher, and family impacted by our programs) that this work matters. That the connections we’re building between school communities in Colorado and Uganda are worth investing in.
Honestly, nights like these are what refill our cups. They remind us why we keep going, especially on the harder days, and they’re often the difference between an organization that can keep pursuing its mission and one that can’t.
So from all of us at Mwebaza: thank you for fostering transformative connections between our communities, and for helping us support economic independence for the Ugandan communities we partner with.
