Our Communications Officer, Atuhaire Shinah, is representing us at an exchange visit organised by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Uganda in Nakuru City, Kenya.

The visit brings together city leaders and officials from Jinja and Soroti Cities in Uganda to benchmark and learn from Nakuru's progress under the Just City Model, which places social justice, democratic governance, equity and environmental sustainability at the heart of urban development. Nakuru was also the first town in Kenya to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network under the Crafts and Folk Art category.

Like , Nakuru City our cities are navigating rapid population growth, infrastructure pressure, housing demand, waste management, mobility, job creation and equitable service delivery. Peer learning helps us adapt proven solutions to our own realities and better serve our residents.

We are grateful to FES Uganda for facilitating this exchange and to the Nakuru County Government - Official, led by Deputy Governor H.E. David Kones, for the warm welcome and for openly sharing their experience.

We look forward to bringing these lessons home and building on this partnership for more inclusive, resilient and just cities.
