Agroecology has increasingly gained global recognition as a viable alternative for sustainably increasing agricultural productivity, food sovereignty sustainable natural resource management and socio-economic well-being of farming communities; and this has stimulated debate among various stakeholders on advancement of the agroecology agenda, however these processes were ongoing with limited involv

ement of small scale farmers who form the majority land users, food producers and practitioners of agroecology.
