🚨 When floods cut off roads and health centers in Ntoroko, how do mothers and babies get care?
Our latest TRAC FM SMS poll run by Faith for Family Health initiative(3FHi) under Uzazi Salama) asked over 2,249 people across Rwenzori:
“What should be done to keep maternal & child health services going during floods?”
Top responses:
✅ 40% → Temporary/mobile clinics right in the community
✅ 23% → Helplines for information & referrals
✅ 21% → Train & equip VHTs & traditional birth attendants
✅ 16% → Provide transport for health workers #

Communities are saying clearly: Bring services closer, keep communication open, and empower first responders.

Through Uzazi Salama, 3FHi is listening — and acting: planning more outreach clinics, building toll-free hotlines/SMS systems, strengthening VHT/TBA networks, and pushing for emergency transport solutions.
Because no mother or baby should be left without care when floods strike.

International Women’s Day 2026

Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of women and girls across Uganda who are transforming families and communities every day.

For the past 8 years, Faith for Family Health Initiative (3FHi) has championed the health and well-being of women, children, and adolescents through an interfaith-led and multisectoral approach. By leveraging the trusted voices of faith and community leaders, we are advancing family planning, adolescent health, maternal health, and gender equality across Uganda.

Working in 31 districts and national level, 3FHi has trained and mobilized over 1,000 interfaith and multisectoral champions who are creating demand for services, challenging harmful norms, and strengthening accountability and advocacy for women’s health investments and better policy environment.

Our work continues to focus on:
• Strengthening advocacy and accountability for policies that protect women and girls
• Increasing demand and access to quality health services
• Building the capacity of faith leaders, civil society, and communities to champion family health
As Uganda marks International Women’s Day 2026 under the theme “Scaling up Investment to Accelerate Access to Justice for all Women and Girls in Uganda,” we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that every woman and girl—especially the most vulnerable—can access the health services, dignity, and opportunities they deserve.

Because when women are healthy, families thrive and communities prosper.

Happy International Women’s Day.

76% of pregnant adolescent girls in Ntoroko first tell someone other than a health worker.

Only 24% go straight to a facility.

That delay can mean missed care, unsafe abortion, school dropout, and lifelong consequences.

Through Uzazi Salama, Faith for Family Health Initiative (3FHi) partnered with TRAC FM to run an SMS poll with 3,800+ respondents across Rwenzori. The results are clear:

We must reach boyfriends, husbands, parents, and community leaders with the right information — fast.

Because when girls get support from the people they trust most, they can seek care early, stay in school, and build a brighter future.
