Sport brought us together. 🇺🇬🏆

On Uganda’s Independence Day, the Wiki Loves Sport 2026 community stepped away from editing to enjoy a day of sport, friendly competition and connection.

But what brings us together on the field also connects us in our work: documenting Ugandan sport so more people can discover it, learn about it and explore its history.

Our Sports Day brought contributors and mentees together to celebrate the project and the people making it happen.

Uganda has a rich sporting scene, and there is still plenty to document. Every contribution can help improve what the world finds about Ugandan sport online.
