Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eu**ch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, HE PREACHED in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.

*FURTHER FASTER*

Iin Acts 8, Philip was directed by an angel into the desert to meet the treasurer of the queen of the Ethiopians, who upon hearing about Jesus immediately believed and wanted to be baptized. When they came up out of the water, the Scripture says that THE SPIRIT OF GOD CAUGHT PHILIP AWAY and he was found in Azotus, where he began preaching again. One moment he’s in the water, and the next moment he’s twenty miles away. That defies logic, except that God had an obvious purpose for Philip to accomplish quickly.

GOD HAS TIMES WHEN HE WILL PURPOSEFULLY PROPEL YOU AHEAD. It may not be to another city, but God may propel you in your CAREER OR HEALTH OR A RELATIONSHIP. HE OPENS A DOOR, GIVES YOU IDEAS, CAUSES YOU TO STAND OUT, BRINGS THE RIGHT PEOPLE, BRINGS THE HEALING.

You can’t explain how it happens. It doesn’t make sense. It should have taken years. You look up and think, “How did I get to Azotus?” so to speak. LOOK FOR THE GOD OF ACCELERATION TO STEP IN AND DO WHAT YOU CAN ’T DO.

“Father, thank You that YOU CAN TAKE ME FURTHER FASTER THAN I could ever imagine because I honor You and want to do Your will. Thank You that You can take what seems like it could take years to happen and suddenly turn it around. I believe that You have wonderful things in store for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.” God bless you

…LOOKING UNTO JESUS, THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH. Hebrews 12:2, NKJV

*YOUR AUTHOR AND FINISHER*

GOD IS THE AUTHOR OF YOUR LIFE. He breathed life into you. He chose you to be here. He gave you a purpose, an assignment, something to accomplish. He’s not just the author, HE'S THE FINISHER. He’s going to keep MAKING YOU, MOLDING YOU, GIVING YOU GRACE TO COME UP HIGHER UNTIL HE FINISHES.

Now, the key is DON'T GIVE UP in the middle. DON'T GET DISCOURAGED while you’re being changed. HE'S IN CONTROL. As long as you’re being your best, you don’t have to perform perfectly. You have a heart to do what’s right. Then you can be assured when it’s time to change, all the forces of darkness cannot stop you. But notice that there’s a requirement for this to happen. You have to look away from all that will distract and LOOK TO JESUS. Focusing on your flaws will distract you from your purpose. Magnifying your weakness, what you don’t like about yourself, will keep you from your potential. Look away from all that and LOOK TO YOUR AUTHOR. DO YOUR BEST and TRUST GOD to take care of the rest.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that Jesus is the author and finisher of my faith, and He will finish what He started in my life. Thank You that I can look away from my weaknesses and flaws that distract me from my purpose. I declare that I will be my best and trust You to work out Your plan. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

THANKSGIVING:
Father, we THANK YOU. With our children, children's children, families and friends we pray, fulfil this in our lives: 'HOW I LOVE YOU, LORD! YOU ARE MY DEFENDER.' Lord, may we pride in our love for You, our commitment, our searching You, our serving You. We pray, teach us to love one another and to forgive one another. Grant us a blessed fruitful, healthy weekend, DEFEND US. Amen.

We LIFT the young people, their families, the EXPECTANT MOTHERS, men and women desiring to have a family, to become parents, REASSURRE THEM. BLESS them with jobs, careers and families which HONOR YOU.

We pray for nations and persons faced with disease outbreaks. INTERVENE, CONTROL, PROTECT the responders and all of us.

We LIFT the sick, the very sick; persons working on quitting and staying sober; those battling mental sickess, HYPERTENSION, CANCERS, DIABETES, OBESITY, chronic diseases, INFIRMITIES OF SENIOR LIFE. TOUCH, HEAL, RESTORE THEM. We pray,

DIS-EASED
“WHOEVER GUARDS HIS MOUTH AND TONGUE GUARDS HIS SOUL FROM TROUBLES ”. Proverbs 21:23

To BE AT EASE means to be FREE FROM PAIN and discomfort, and so I was until one day while teaching a ballet class, I felt nauseous like I was on a whirling ride at King’s Island. Sparkling spots twinkled on a black background in front of my eyes and my normal sense of balance was nowhere to be found. “What is wrong with me, Jesus?” I hoped that my students wouldn’t notice so I pretended to be doing a new choreographic move as I suddenly stumbled. I knew that I was very sick. MY EASE had been dissed. No doctor could figure out why I was sick because every test that I took turned up normal.

Shortly before this day, the Lord told me to “STAND ”. What? I didn’t ask Him what that meant. I was overworked and tired, but I kept pushing onward. The Lord spoke to me again and what He said the second time was a little stronger: “HALT ”. Yet I just kept on going until He actually let my disobedience to His spoken word to me cause me to halt. Hearing and not obeying had caused confusion in my mind and heart. I began to be dissatisfied with everyone and everything around me.

Dissatisfied and confused, I began to doubt that God wanted me to be healed. This doubt was paralyzing. I couldn’t think or see straight. Then I became angry.

I got a glimpse of how evil my human heart is in turning from God: not trusting Him and in being angry at my situation. It was that yucky sin nature again trying to figure it all out and not trusting Him with all of my heart. Plus, I WAS STILL TALKING SICKNESS, NOT HEALING, MOST OF THE TIME.

Note from my pastor: “CORRUPT SPEECH IS SAYING YOU ARE SICK WHEN THE WORD SAYS YOU ARE HEALED.” Ouch!

Prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I purpose this day to speak Your Word over my dis-ease rather than give voice to my feelings. Check me if I am tempted to murmur and complain. I will order my conversation to agree with Your Word.”

In Jesus’ Mighty Name,

AMEN!

Final Thoughts:
The Lord worked with me so lovingly that I could only respond to Him with love in return. He took me through intense soul searching and showed me some attitudes that had to change if I were to recover my ease. Among other things I renewed my commitment to guard my mouth. He healed me and my ease was no longer dissed. Hallelujah, Jesus is always the answer.

THE LORD IS MY PROTECTOR; MY FORTRESS
Psalms 18:2 THE LORD IS MY PROTECTOR; HE IS MY STRONG FORTRESS. My God is my protection, and with HIM I AM SAFE. HE PROTECTS ME LIKE A SHIELD; HE DEFENDS ME AND KEEPS ME SAFE.

THANKSGIVING:
Dear Father, we THANK YOU, for 'YOU ARE OUR PROTECTOR, REFUGE, A SHELTER IN THE TIME OF STORM.' With our children, children's children, families and friends WE ARE SAFE IN YOU. STRENGTHEN Us, when we must face earthly storms, pains, diseases, or challenges. MAY WE ALWAYS TURN TO YOU, OUR SAFE RETREAT, Amen.

We LIFT the young people, their families, the EXPECTANT MOTHERS, men and women desiring to have a family, to become parents, REASSURRE THEM. BLESS them with jobs, careers and families which HONOR YOU.

TO BE HEALED
“Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed.” John 5:2-3

There were many sick people there. One version says “MULTITUDES.” They were ALL LYING AROUND ON THEIR MATS waiting for an angel to come and stir the waters so that if they were in the right place at the right time, they might be healed. Jesus goes on to tell of a man who had been there for thirty-eight years! Jesus saw him lying there on his mat and asked him, “DO YOU WANT TO GET WELL?” (John 5:6). Check this out: He answered,

“I HAVE NO ONE TO HELP ME into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” (John 5:7)

Why didn’t the sick guy just say, “Yes?” I think he didn’t want to be healed right then because he did not want the responsibility that would come with it. It is easier to be affirmed, established, and pitied rather than to change.

However, Jesus calls us to change. The guy on the mat had been there for so long that it had become his identity. He had other friends on mats, and they would talk about their issues together. They had become a culture. If he were HEALED, he would have to give up his identity and change his way of life. What about us?

Could it be that some of us have had an issue for so long that we really don’t want to be healed? We want Jesus to love us and comfort us in our affliction.

Additionally, the man said that no one would help him. Do we BLAME OUR ISSUES ON SOMEONE ELSE who didn’t help us, affirm us and enable us?

Prayer:
“LORD, HELP US to GET OFF of OUR MATS AND BE HEALED. Grant us the BOLDNESS TO JUST GET UP AND WALK. YOU ARE GOD OF THE IMPOSSIBLE. WE BELIEVE THIS!” In Jesus’ Mighty Name, AMEN!

Final Thoughts:
Today BROKENNESS has become an idol and people defend their right to bow down to it. They want to be like the man on the mat gathering others with like symptoms and talking about their afflictions thus magnifying and further establishing them. They too have a culture. It is the voice of enabling and in order to be healed we have to break it.

“Then Jesus said to him, ‘GET UP! PICK UP YOUR MAT AND WALK.’” He told the sick guy to do something He previously could not do: TO GET UP and walk. He will do the same for us if we will just get off the mat of our issues and walk.

We pray, Grant us the CONFIDENCE this week, that we are VICTORS, our VISIONS will BEAR FRUIT which excell our expectations. Our FAMILIES, POSSESSIONS ARE COVERED BY YOUR HAND. Amen.
