✨ 8 Saturdays. 690 child attendances. And a community that keeps showing up.

On 18th July 2026, we began a simple but deeply meaningful journey in Meaciku Village, Adjumani: ANZO, Where Faith Meets Joy. 💛

Yesterday, 5th September, marked our 8th Saturday.

As we added up the attendance from each week, we reached a beautiful milestone:

660 child attendances in 8 weeks. 🙏

That is an average of 82 children every Saturday coming together to sing, worship, learn, play, listen to God's Word and share a warm cup of porridge.

Each Saturday follows a rhythm that the children are growing to look forward to:

🙏 First, we praise and worship together.

📺 The children watch a different Bible story on screen each week, made possible through the generous donation of a screen by one of our ministry partners.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 They then break into age-based groups, where our facilitators help them explore the story and apply its lessons to their lives.

🥣 And before they go home, they share a cup of warm porridge, sweetened with sugar and enriched with milk, sometimes accompanied by a snack.

⛹️ After which the session is closed with prayer and the children are dismissed. The children usually continue playing on the grounds before going home.

To our volunteers: thank you for giving more than your time. Thank you for giving your hearts. 🌿

Thank you to every partner, supporter and friend who has prayed, given, encouraged or contributed in any way. ❤️

Because 660 is not just a number.

It represents 660 opportunities to teach, to encourage, to nourish, to love and to plant seeds of faith. 🎊

And this is only Week 8. 🌟

We are excited for the many Saturdays still ahead. ✨

💧 Restoring a Source of Life

A small repair can make a big difference.

✨ We are grateful to share that the broken taps at the community well have been replaced with new ones, restoring reliable access to water for families in the community.

The well is a shared resource that serves many members of the village, and keeping it functional requires more than simply having the water source. It requires community ownership, responsibility, and commitment. 🌿

A community leadership committee oversees the well and works to ensure that it remains functional and properly managed. Village members also play an important role by keeping the area clean, participating in maintenance, and reporting challenges that need attention.

When the taps broke, the community did not simply wait for someone else to solve the problem. Mobilization was done, new taps were purchased, and the repairs were completed.

✨ This is the kind of community ownership we are proud to see at Mtoto Wafrika, a community taking responsibility for a resource that belongs to everyone.

Access to clean and reliable water supports health, dignity, education, and family well-being. Every repaired tap means another family can draw water, another child can wash their hands, and another household can go about its day with one less burden. 🌟

We appreciate the community leaders and village members who continue to care for and protect this shared resource. 💛

🌱 A Story Still Being Written

Over the weekend, we had the joy of visiting Winnie, one of the children supported through the Mtoto Wafrika Child Sponsorship Program, at Good Samaritan Christian High School, where she is now in Senior Three.

Our journey with Winnie began in 2022, when we first met her at Nyumanzi Refugee Settlement through our partner church led by Pastor Isaac Deng. At the time, she was still in primary school, a young girl with a future waiting to unfold. 🌟

Her journey has taken her from a young primary school learner in the refugee settlement to a growing young woman progressing through secondary education. We are grateful to everyone who has played a part in walking alongside her. ❤️

We are proud of you, Winnie. Keep learning, keep growing, and keep dreaming.

And to her sponsor and all our partners who continue to believe in the potential of children like Winnie.. thank you for being part of the journey. ✨

UPDATE FROM ADJUMANI: ANZO IS ALIVE! 🇺🇬

We’re so excited to share what God is doing through our ANZO Children’s Discipleship Program in Adjumani!

Faith Meets Joy — and every Saturday, you can feel it.

For 2 to 3 hours, children gather to learn God’s Word, worship, and grow together. And now, thanks to a generous well-wisher donor, our lessons just came ALIVE!

We’ve received a brand new 50-inch TV with trolley 🙌
This is the first TV of this size in the community! We’re now using it to show Bible story movies that bring the Scriptures to life for the children. The excitement was BIG. But more than entertainment, this screen is now an evangelism tool for the whole community.

What makes ANZO special:
1. Discipleship: Every Saturday children are taught the Bible in a fun, engaging way.
2. Nourishment: When funds allow, our amazing team serves a cup of nutritious porridge + a bite. No child should learn on an empty stomach.
3. People: A dedicated team of volunteers serving alongside the teachers of Mtoto W'Afrika Christian Nursery School.

I especially want to celebrate Auntie Rose, our cook. Rose serves with such a dedicated heart to make sure every child gets a cup of porridge. She is the hands and feet of Jesus to these kids

Our Vision: To raise the next generation of God-fearing leaders in Africa. One Saturday, one story, one child at a time.

✨ 168 Children. One Beautiful Beginning.

What happens when 168 children gather to learn about the God who created the heavens and the earth?

Last Saturday, we witnessed something truly special as we officially launched the ANZO Children's Discipleship and Development Program. 🌿

From the moment the children arrived, the school grounds came alive with laughter, joyful songs, energetic games, dancing, and heartfelt worship.

Children aged 3 to 14 years came together, not just to have fun, but to encounter God in a way that speaks to their hearts and minds.

Our very first Bible lesson explored Genesis 1:1–2:3, where the children discovered that God is the Creator of everything. They listened with curiosity, asked thoughtful questions, and then brought the creation story to life through colorful drawings and artwork depicting what God created during the six days of creation. 🌟

Watching little hands carefully color the sun, stars, animals, trees, and oceans was a beautiful reminder that every child is wonderfully creative because they are made in the image of their Creator.

The day was about much more than lessons and activities. Together we played. We sang. We prayed. We shared warm porridge and snacks. We built friendships. Most importantly, we planted seeds of faith that, by God's grace, will continue to grow for years to come. ✨

To every volunteer who gave their time, every supporter who prayed, every donor who invested in this vision, and every partner who believes in the next generation—thank you. Your generosity made this day possible. 🌼

This was only the beginning.
Please continue to pray with us as we disciple children, nurture their God-given potential, and provide a safe, joyful environment where they can grow spiritually, socially, and emotionally.

Together, we are raising a generation that knows God, loves His Word, and will shine His light in their communities.

✨ Today we are launching our Saturday children's fellowship coded ANZO.

"ANZO, where Faith meets Joy."

This is a holistic Children's Discipleship and Development Program.

ANZO means "joy" or "happiness" in the Madi language spoken here in Meaciku village. 😃

Our hope is that this space will bring together many children in this community to experience joy and peace as they learn about the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. 🌟
