20 years of turning water into a movement. 💧🎶💙

Today, the Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli | NGO Hamburg family is celebrating this incredible milestone at in Hamburg. 20 years of joy, creativity, community and impact.

For Viva con Agua Uganda, this celebration is especially meaningful. For close to 10 years, we have been part of this journey, working with communities across West Nile, Rwenzori, Karamoja, Kampala and Wakiso to create lasting change through water, sanitation and hygiene.

We celebrate the lives touched, the partnerships built and the communities transformed, and we look forward to even more impact in the years ahead.

20 years down. More change to create. More lives to reach. More reasons to celebrate.

Viva con Agua is participating in the Africa Water Systems Leadership Symposium in Rwanda, where conversations are challenging us to rethink how sustainable water services are financed and managed.

One key takeaway: affordability must go hand in hand with sustainable financing that covers the full life cycle of water infrastructure.

Strong leadership, good governance, financing and accountability are key to ensuring lasting water services for all. 💙🌍

🎨⚽️ Give a child a paintbrush, a ball, a beat, and watch WASH learning come alive.

That’s the thinking behind UL4C — Universal Languages for Change. Our not-so-secret method for WASH learning: art, football, dance, storytelling.

No lists to memorize. Just fun, activating experiences kids actually want to show up for.

And once they’re hooked, they keep showing up. Show up enough times, and habits change for good.

Fun isn’t the bonus. It’s the whole point.

🇺🇬 Uganda is Ebola-free!

A huge congratulations to everyone who made this possible. From frontline health workers to communities and partners.

One important reminder: WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) saves lives. Clean water, handwashing, safe sanitation, and good hygiene practices are some of our strongest defenses against disease outbreaks.

Let’s celebrate this milestone and keep investing in prevention, because healthy communities start with access to WASH. 💙💧

Last week, together with Watoto Wasoka, we trained teachers from 10 schools across KCCA and Wakiso District to deliver Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH) education through the power of play.

As the first initiative under Viva con Agua’s Universal Languages for Change approach in Uganda, we’re helping teachers create safe, inclusive, and stigma-free learning spaces where every child can thrive.

Because when teachers are empowered, every learner benefits. 💙

Every day, families in Bidi Bidi walk miles for water that still falls short of what they need. In one of the world’s largest refugee settlements, average access sits at just 12.5 litres per person a day, well under the 20-litre humanitarian standard.

That’s the gap our Lighthouse Project is closing: new and repaired water points, trained local water committees, and systems built to hold up through the dry season, reaching 300,000 people across host and refugee communities in Yumbe District.

This Refugee Day, the message is simple: safety isn’t divided. Until every family has water, sanitation, and hygiene they can count on, we keep building.

Yesterday we joined St. Francis Kabagezi Primary School to celebrate — and the vibes were everything! ✨

Because means being all in for dignity too. This time, we were all in for a , bringing together girls, boys, women, and men to support menstrual health and break the stigma.

A special highlight was revisiting the MHM Changing Room built by Viva con Agua Uganda over 5 years ago. Still standing strong, still serving girls with the privacy, safety, and dignity they deserve. 💙

Here’s to a world where every girl can thrive, every day of the month. 🌍✨
