CDG Foundation is a Child welfare organization which takes on vulnerable children. It recognizes children as the next global movers and their proper up-bringing; a vital process to ensure morally up-right future global social, economic and political building processes. The organization has tailor-made objectives which are also coupled with Environmental conservation to reduce global warming. Our o
ffices are located in an area called Bwaise, one Uganda's biggest slum areas with many vulnerable children exposed to many vices like; prostitution and drug abuse among others. We also working in areas of Northern Uganda (Kumi district) on addition to other parts of the country like Masaka and Wakiso. UGANDA is a third world country with its per-capita income approximated at US$490 annually. An estimated 25% of the 35,000,000 Ugandans live on less than US$1.00 per day. Uganda being one of the youngest and fastest growing populations of the world, increasing currently at rate of 3.3% per annum. At this growth rate, there are very many challenges faced by Child minders in their Endeavour to provide adequate child welfare to young one under their care which include unemployment, reducing share of income per capita, inadequate health care, ever raising commodity prices, community sanitation problems and stress among others. Due to these challenges these vulnerable children go without proper health care, proper moral guidance, parental love and education among others. On addition; there are many challenges ahead for which the vulnerable children need to be fore-prepared before meeting so as to enable them have integrity and easily achieve sustainable development as adults. These challenges include; sky rocketing unemployment rates, drug abuse, poverty, malnutrition, deteriorating health, poor planning, school dropout, neglect, bereavement, environmental degradation and domestic violence among others. Theorists like Rudolph Steiner (1861-1925), Lev Vygotsky (1896-1934) and John Bowldy (1907-1990) put a lot of emphasis on the environment of a child as regards Child minding. They stressed out the importance of the child’s environment as the most basic factor in understanding the sequence of a child’s development while providing child welfare for the proper up bring of children. CDG Foundation up-holds the analysis of these theories and RECOGNIZES further; that we and our partners have consistently expressed the need for better child development in Uganda and to have a collective voice when addressing applicable development issues of a social and/or economic nature. We are DETERMINED and COMMITTED to becoming a platform for boosting child welfare through analyzed and better strategies of child minding and their environment.
