Doors Ministries was founded in 2012 out of passion for the Lord and and a desire to walk in faith, justice, and humility. Doors Ministries was birthed by a small group of believers who were not seeking to start a ministry, but believed in the power of saying “yes” to God. The first “yes” Doors Ministries made was to stop and love a group of street children who were deemed untouchable by other ind
ividuals and organizations. From there, a ministry was born with a focus on the individual, a desire to see each person the way God sees them, and loving each person the way God loves His children. In all Doors does, the focus is discipleship: the act of creating little Christs by loving God and our neighbors, teaching and living out His Word, and caring for the orphan and widow. As we do these things, we see a Door of Hope open in the Valley of Trouble, and disciples multiply. One person was never too small to stop Jesus in His tracks. In following Christ’s example, we stop for the one abandoned child, the one broken mother, the one overlooked student. And as we stop for the one, we pray the One True God will be made known. Doors currently runs the following programs within the ministry:
Doors Home
The Doors Home welcomes former street* boys into a redemptive family. The boys are discipled as they share life with Doors staff who serve as aunties and uncles. They share meals, study the Bible, and pray together as a family. The boys are responsible for daily chores, and study at Doors Primary School. The boys also participate in extracurricular activities, house meetings, and counseling sessions. Every boy is encouraged and guided to seek reconciliation with remaining family members. Doors aims to resettle children with their families when possible.
*Street children are children who have run away from family or guardians to live homeless on the streets of Kampala. Most are forced to run to the hard street life through orphanhood or abuse at home, while others willingly make the run in hopes of an easier life of freedom from adult control on the streets. All find the harsh reality of street life to be full of hunger, drug addiction, depression, and in most cases more abuse than what was experienced at home. Joshua Home
The Joshua Home is a transitional living home for young men who have aged out of the Doors Home and are still working to finish their high school education. Doors seeks to prepare these young men for independent living upon the completion of their studies. The young men live in community with Doors staff who give a godly example of how to live as a Christian man. The Doors staff provide counsel and guidance as they disciple these young men. The Joshua men study on a self-paced homeschool curriculum, guided by Doors staff. Alongside their studies, the Joshua men serve as ministry interns in various Doors projects to earn money for their weekly budget. Sarai-Sarah Home
The Sarai-Sarah Home brings vulnerable girls into a loving family where they experience God’s healing and redemption. The girls are discipled by Doors staff through family prayer, Bible study, worship nights, and counseling. The girls and aunties share meals and chores together, attend church together, and have weekly dance classes and counseling sessions. The girls attend Doors Primary School and receive extra tutoring at home when needed. Older girls are given the opportunity for vocational training. Foster Homes

Children are placed in loving homes, where they are able to experience healing from their pasts, and freedom to grow in their gifts and passions. Foster children attend Doors Primary School.
