When One Life Changes, a Family Finds Hope

There was a time when Matayo’s family struggled to get through each day.

Their home was almost collapsing. Food was hard to find, and the family could not afford proper medical care for their children. They believed someone was bewitching them, while the family continued to face deep hardship. Sadly, one of their children, who was malnourished, passed away.

Matayo struggled with alcohol. Sending his children to school was beyond what he could manage, and poverty had left the family with very few options.

But today, their story is changing.

Through the ministry of Unreached Africa, the family has a new home. The children are in school, they have a garden to provide food, and they have planted coffee to help sustain their family.

There is also a change in Matayo himself. He has said yes to Jesus Christ.

And that matters.

As Matayo’s life changes, so does the way he can show up for his family and community. He has renewed hope as a father, a chance to provide for his children, and a growing opportunity to take his place in the community with dignity.

This is part of what happens when the gospel reaches a life. It is not just about hearing the message of Jesus. It is about beginning a journey with Him, one that can shape how we live, how we care for our families, and how we relate to the people around us.

At Unreached Africa, we believe every community deserves the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel. And when someone says yes to Jesus, we want to walk alongside them as they grow in faith and see that faith take root in everyday life.

Matayo’s story is still unfolding. But today, his family has a home, his children have an opportunity to learn, and there is hope where there was once so much hardship.

This is why we go. So that people can hear the gospel, know Jesus, and experience the hope of a life being transformed.

At Unreached Africa, we are honored to walk alongside children as they grow spiritually, physically, emotionally, and academically. Every child deserves hope, opportunity, and the chance to dream.

Happy Day of the African Child! Together, we are raising a generation that will transform Africa for Christ.

We were blessed to spend the day with our pastors’ wives, gathering together to reflect on the message of the Virtuous Woman from Proverbs 31 and encouraging one another in faith, strength, and purpose.

We also shared precious time with the children and had the opportunity to visit our gardens, where seeds of hope and sustainability are growing.

Moments like these remind us that ministry is not only about preaching the Gospel, but also about walking alongside families, empowering women, nurturing children, and building sustainable communities together.

Thank you for praying, supporting, and being part of what God is doing through Unreached Africa.

We are so full of gratitude for two powerful events that just concluded: our Children’s VBS and a transformative Marriage Seminar where approximately 120 couples came together to learn and be encouraged.

We are so humbled by what the Lord is doing here. It’s His grace that made these events possible and such a success.

We also want to extend a massive thank you to our amazing partners! Your faithful and generous support is the backbone of Unreached Africa's work, and it's because of you that we can continue to serve these communities.
