WOMEN-LED GREEN BUSINESS?LET'S TALK:
We are looking for Ugandan SMEs that are female owned & led to participate on the WE4D Program ( Green Business and jobs for the Green transformation project).
The WE4D program supports employment opportunities especially for women in Africa and contributes to a Green transformation of the partner countries.
This programme is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in partnership with the European Union (Regional Team Europe Initiative IYBA WE4A) and Norway.
The Project is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Labor and Social Development (MoGLSD), with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD).
This programme contributes to the green Transformation focusing on female employment promotion in Green sectors and conventional sectors with a potential for greening.
Such sectors include; Green sectors such as;
*Sustainable Agriculture
*Blue Economy/ Aquaculture
*Renewable Energies
*Circular Economy/ Waste Management
*Eco-Tourism and the;
Greening sectors such as;
*Transport and Logistics
*Construction etc.

The objective of the project is foster the growth of Green/greening women-led micro and small enterprises in Uganda through the provision of business training, business coaching and access to finance to the participating enterprises.
So we call upon all the women-led SMEs with the eligibility requirements including; two years of operation minimum, 12 months bank statement, atleast 2 full time employees, proof of minimum annual turnover and falling within the shared sectors to show interest through GSWIM as a mobilising entity.

It was such a great honour for Grooming a Successful Woman with Intellectual Mind (GSWIM) to be recognised for its Successful contribution as a partner with Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) at the Brand Protection Symposium held at Uganda Business Facilitation Centre on 18th September 2025. At the same time being appreciated for being part of the panelists in sharing insightful ideas on how businesses can be branded for a competitive advantage which marked a new journey for all entrepreneurs in participation to promote well branded Products and Services in the market inline with Intellectual Property.
I take this opportunity to thank the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) through The Registrar General - Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho for giving us this opportunity and the entire URSB team which worked so hard to make this possible as well as empowering entrepreneurs and Fashion designers with the knowledge of IP for brand Protection in Uganda.

*Brand Protection Symposium 18th September 2025*
We are honored to be part of the Brand Protection Symposium organised by the Uganda Registration Services Bureau( URSB) in collaboration with the Uganda National Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI), Grooming a Successful Woman with Intellectual Mind (GSWIM) and the Pearl of Africa Fashion Alliance ( PAFA).
This one day Symposium is going to attract over 200 participants, including entrepreneurs, fashion designers and lead SMEs to explore how Intellectual Property tools especially Trademarks and Industrial designs can protect and grow businesses if Properly utilised.
Among the highlights; we shall have alot of interesting sessions including;
*Trademarks and Industrial design Protection.
*Success story sharing from the entrepreneurs & designers who have built brands before.
*An Entrepreneurship and Fashion exhibition where creative and innovative products are going to be showcased.
*Lastly, recognising the creative works by URSB through awards.

This Symposium will open the eyes of the participants to transform their businesses into formal and sustainable brands for brand building not only within their circles but beyond the boarders where creativity and innovation will be rewarded through Commercialization.

.Awarding certificates of completion to the second group of the that has been running in Bujjuko at ST.Charles Lwanga Parish. This program has empowered a group of youth through acquiring a skill and developing it into a business in fashion and design and hair dressing.
With the acquired skill, the group is going to support the other youth in the Parish through training them to also acquire the same skills under the support and mentorship of GSWIM Organization- that is, using the train the trainer approach to reach out to many youth with the main aim of transforming many lives of the vulnerable most especially those who are unemployed to start up something for income generation. By 2026, we are looking at having empowered over 200 youth in and around the Parish that are going to make a difference to be self-employed.
We take this opportunity to thank the Catholic Church of Bujjuko Parish for giving us this opportunity to serve through transforming the lives of the youth in that community under the leadership of Father Mwanje who is the Youth Leader. That is, bringing IP to the community through skills to business development. We look forward to more engagements and empowerment of the other groups coming on board.No ceasing, No giving up, we are just starting the journey.

on Skills to Business Development using innovative ideas which include coming up with new products and services that create value to enhance business competitiveness. This included the awarding of certificates as a formal completion of the skills and competencies acquired qualifying the bearer for entry level opportunity in either; Fashion and Industry or Hair Dressing and Beauty.
This program was organised by Grooming a Successful Woman with Intellectual Mind (GSWIM).
We are honoured to have contributed to the betterment of the young women in the community setting them out to improve on their standards of living with a skill for life in a unique setting of Intellectual Property.
