Justice And Liberty Forum-Uganda is a an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit making and non-partisan organisation established in Uganda in 2017 to promote human rights, constitutionalism, democracy through legal and other means in Uganda. The organisation is based in Kampala, Uganda and partners with other state actors, government agencies and civil society organisations with the same in
terest at the national, regional and international levels. The organisation seeks the promotion and enjoyment of human rights and freedoms, justice, democracy, rule of law through education, advocacy and awareness platforms to empower the communities in Uganda especially women, children and the vulnerable persons on their rights and freedoms. The objects for which the organisation is established are:
a) To operate as an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit making and non-partisan organisation. b) To provide a platform for activism as a means of empowering citizens on democracy and electoral laws and procedure. c) To employ legal means in achieving a free and democratic environment to promote constitutionalism and constitutional governance
d) To advocate for the protection of civil and other human rights for all persons. e) To promote access to legal aid services to the under privileged persons and indigent persons who may not be able to afford legal aid and yet have suffered a breach in their rights and freedoms
f) To advance legal aid services to the rural areas through education, advocacy and awareness platforms to empower the rural communities on their rights and freedoms. g) To advocate for women and children rights through advocacy and other awareness programs. h) To promote through education, the Universal respect for human rights and dignity of the human person and the observance, development and implementation of the provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the law and international human rights instruments adopted for the protection of the human person and the principles of humanity
i) To demand the observance of the rule of law by government and all stake holders so as to promote justice, human rights and democracy in Uganda. j) To work hand in hand with other state actors, government agencies and civil society organisations with the same interest to ensure the promotion and enjoyment of human rights and freedoms and democracy at the national, regional and international levels. k) To do all such other lawful things as are incidental of conducive to the attainment of the above objects
