Pastor Kazibwe John was born and raised in Uganda, East Africa. After his mother Got converted to Christianity from their strong roots of Islam and traditional witchcraft practices, she preached to him then, first casually attended a born again church in 1993, got baptized in 1987, he attended the Discipleship and bible classes to grow maturely in the Lord. However, a misunderstanding developed gr
owing into an eruption within his Islamic family members raging threats and cursing as his father and other relatives protested against his new faith in Christ. His Grandpa was a Sheikh and a native doctor who was greatly feared by members of community because of his paranormal powers. After some years his father reconciled to his mother and he also believed the Gospel, shocking further many friends and relatives! Pastor John is the vision bearer and senior minister of SOUL COMPASSIONATE OUTREACH MINISTRIES which has its headquarters in Kampala, Uganda, in East Africa. John first encountered God for ministry in 1993, working as a casual laborer in a dark basement of an old building, he was holding a big hammer demolishing old walls for renovation of a new, then an audible voice of the Lord spoke, "my word is like a hammer to demolish every Satanic fortress", stand on your feet and start preaching to the broken debris, immediately the power of the Holy spirit engulfed him, preached and prophesied. Pastor John Kazibwe and Rev John Mugabi were the first youth evangelical preachers to initiate the prison ministry in Uganda and this lead pastor John into incarceration because their was nothing like this then, he is one of those who lead the street evangelism revival on the streets of Kampala in the early & late 90s, several dialogue meetings with radical Muslims in open air meetings, streets and radio programs this got many Muslims converted and many are ministers of the gospel today and others are members of Ex Muslim evangelical ministries for Christ, a group specifically reaching out to Muslim community with the gospel of Christ.
1994, At CHRIST JESUS FOUNDATION CHURCH, he served as a Sunday school pastor, a Youth and Evangelism pastor, an assistant pastor and a lead pastor at large, he has planted many churches, training pastors and leaders in Ugandan villages and Islands of Lake Victoria, 2 churches in Kigali Rwanda, a church in Kenya and Democratic Republic of Congo, many miracles have been registered in the Name of Jesus Christ as the power of witchcraft destroyed and broken down especially in the rural interior places and islands of lake Victoria where people adore practices of black magic. John has witnessed the power of God's transformation in his area of ministration. He has transformed many ghetto children's lives from drugs, he has mobilized leaders across the denominations together in his WEST KAMPALA PASTORS ASSOCIATION were he has served as a Leader of Discipline, Vice chairman and an Executive Speaker, a post he served in for nine good years. He is a coordinator/ director of TEFO, an organization established in the Eastern part of Uganda to promote good parenthood. His insights of the principles for the Biblical truth, Grace, prayer, Apostolic oversight, Evangelism, Revival meetings, church planting and unity have been a valuable resource and have been adapted and applied in his ministerial efforts. Pastor John a retired boxer in 2000, he now compassionately looks forward to win souls for Christ whatsoever, transform communities, rescue street children, Reaching out with mission of hope to Orphans and Vulnerable children, illuminating their future by offering education and feeding programs. SCOM
The beginnings of SOUL COMPASSIONATE OUTREACH MINISTRIES are rooted in God’s intervention and transformation of the life of a young and passionate Evangelist John Kazibwe in 1993. And later received support base from his mother Joyce and other brethren who established CHRIST JESUS FOUNDATION CHURCH. John and others started involving in open air evangelism meeting and door to door tracts distributions which John himself interpreted from English into Luganda Language. Most of the people who believed the gospel were vulnerable single mothers, widows followed by a number of children. John speaking at the church, was mainly to children in early morning school service. Since John was a weekly casual laborer he was able to buy biscuits and sweets for children each Sunday they attended, encouraging them to memorize a bible verse and then the children church grew from infancy through youths to mature ministers. Evangelistic meetings grew in slum areas. Since these places are associated with high rate of criminals especially armed robbery and burglary, they discovered that most men who served as husbands and fathers of these children were either lynched to death by mob justice or serving prison sentences in maximum prison. During evening glory (prayer meeting) as John and team raised prayer concern for prisoners, God spoke Matt 25:31-40, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Jesus was revealed as the Savior of sinners and they accepted him as their Savior then also sharing him further in person to those who needed him and vulnerable people. In that season, the Holy Spirit spoke to the tiny congregation about a vision for missions, and specifically, sending missionaries. John's Family from the church and other few committed themselves to missions, collected a few shillings, pooled their personal resources, and moved toward to form SCOM to fulfill the vision to train, send, and support missionaries. In early 2007 in the midst of great need SOUL COMPASSIONATE OUTREACH MINISTRIES, SCOM is registered by the government of Uganda. No: 80020001703025. Was established by compassionate men and women of vision driven by the purpose of spreading the gospel of love, save lives, feed the hungry, visiting sick people in hospitals and prisons. HIV AIDS dreaded disease had made many children parent - less and thus led many children ending on the streets of Kampala. They went around in villages, Lake Victoria islands, establishing churches where needed be and raised leaders. It was hundreds of children who believed the gospel when they took the gospel to Namagonya village in Kayunga district, the heinous home of child ritual sacrifices, sponsorship infant and primary school was established followed by church, today the history of this place is changing rapidly! From this radical commitment, God has blessed the efforts of SOUL COMPASSIONATE OUTREACH MINISTRIES – one organization with different ministries including over seeing churches, pastors and leaders of ministries by asserting vision of raising children in vibrant life, SCOM runs a few projects (Scom education center for 200 children), (Coffee and Bananas farm), (Feeding, Clothing and Bedding program), (Piggery project), (Art and Craft women project), (Medical and Counselling care).
