πβ¨ From a simple idea to a funded movement . The journey of Empower Her Library has been truly inspiring.
What started as organizing book drives for schools has now grown into a project that is creating meaningful change through improved access to knowledge and information.
I am excited to share the progress of Empower Her Library, a project by Shetechtive Uganda focused on expanding climate information access through library financing, resource support, and training programs for young people in the Kiryandongo Refugee Host Community.
At a time when climate change is increasingly affecting livelihoods, education, and communities, access to reliable climate information is more important than ever. Many young people in rural and refugee-hosting communities still lack the resources and spaces needed to learn, innovate, and prepare for climate challenges.
Through Empower Her Library, we are helping create learning spaces where youth can access climate knowledge, build practical skills, and become active participants in shaping resilient communities.
A huge thank you to the Youth Empowerment Fund for funding this project and believing in youth-led solutions.
A special appreciation to Global Youth Mobilization and the European Union for their training, funding, and continued support that makes initiatives like this possible.
The future belongs to informed, empowered young people, and it starts with access to knowledge. πππ
