Restless Development Uganda Restless Development is the youth led development agency which places young people at the forefront of change and development. In Uganda, since 1997.

Young people are most affected by the most persistent problems in the world, yet are frequently overlooked as part of the solution. Our mission is to place young people at the forefront of change and development. Our strength comes from being led by young people and young professionals, from the boardroom right through to the field. We have been working hard since 1985 and over the past 29 years, our programmes have reached over 7 million young people directly and indirectly.

Big ambitions need the right skills and opportunities! 🚀

We’re excited to launch the Youth Connect Inclusive Economic Empowerment (IEE) Pathway with support from the British Council.

The programme will provide young people with practical training, mentoring and workplace or business exposure. This will help them build confidence and pursue employment or business opportunities.

This week, we’re preparing the mentors and facilitators who will support them throughout the journey.

What role should communities play in fighting corruption? 📣

Students from Nadunget S.S. and Katikekile Seed Secondary School in Moroto District discussed this question during an inter-school debate.

They confidently shared their views, listened to different perspectives and challenged ideas with respect. The debate showed why young people need spaces to speak up and take part in conversations about governance and accountability.

Young people are using their voices to drive change in their communities.

Last week, our team met with district leaders and heads of departments of Madi-Okollo District to introduce the Youth Inclusion in Governance and Accountability (YIGA) project and discuss how we can work together to strengthen young people’s participation in district planning, budgeting and decision-making.

The discussions are helping to build a shared understanding of the project and the role district stakeholders can play in creating meaningful opportunities for young people to contribute to district planning, budgeting and decision-making.

When young people and local leaders work together, decisions can better reflect young people’s priorities and experiences.

Are you a skilled storyteller who is passionate about youth participation, governance and social change?

We are looking for a Communications Officer to lead communications and documentation for the YIGA project in West Nile. The role will capture young people’s perspectives, programme results, evidence, and stories of change, and turn them into clear, engaging content for different audiences.

You will work closely with young people, programme teams and partners to document how young people are influencing governance, strengthening accountability and contributing to better public services in Arua, Terego and Madi-Okollo.

📢 We’re hiring: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Coordinator

Are you passionate about using evidence to improve programmes and strengthen youth participation?

We are looking for an experienced MEL professional to coordinate monitoring, evidence generation and learning for the YIGA project across Karamoja and West Nile.

The role will support programme teams and partners to generate reliable data, track whether young people are gaining civic knowledge and influencing decisions, and assess how local governments and community leaders respond to their priorities. The Coordinator will also help turn evidence and learning into practical recommendations for programme and policy decisions.

If you have strong experience in monitoring, evaluation, research and learning within NGO or donor-funded programmes, we would love to hear from you.
