Jesus is Great Development Foundation is a Christian founded and centered Non-Profit
making Organization dedicated to reach out to street children and young people and empower
them to become useful and s
elf-sustainable in the society. Jesus is Great Development Foundation was established due to the need to empower the
orphans, street children and youth spiritually, socially and economically so that they can be
able to sustain themselves and also improve their livelihoods. Most of youth and street
children populations in Wakiso District are UN empowered and un-educated because there
from broken families backgrounds. They lack basic needs and can’t a ord to even access
humanitarian and social services like education, medical, infrastructure among others. It’s of this reason that we set our focus and was led by God to help the youth who have
dropped out of school and children of today in Uganda to empower them to acquire their
basic needs so that they too can live a worth living life. We started our operations by
partnering with local Churches, youth Clubs, University and other organizations through
fellowship, prayer meetings to share individual/group needs and challenges, and encouraging
them regardless of these hard times they are facing. Today we are so happy to see what God is doing for His people in these communities, as our
work and outreaches are creating a great impact and change in their lives. RECALLING the impact of HIV/AIDS in our society killing parents and leaving many
children and youth parentless and homeless
AWARE that the epidemic has adversely affected the ordinary Ugandan youth and children
in spheres of education, social economic, cultural and economic development. Vision
Our Mission is to promote the youth and street children in Spiritual, Social and Economic
wellbeing through building shelters for them and sensitize them with life skills in order to
become self-sustainable and self-reliance.

Aim
To mobilize, empower and improve the welfare of street children and youth in Uganda. Objectives
Jesus is Great Development Foundation targets the most vulnerable and needy youth and
children in the communities of Uganda. The different groups of people and communities in
this area are faced with many life challenges, poverty and lack of social services out weighing
them all. We aim to bring sustainable development to the community at large through
Education, Health and enterprise projects and carry out activities as stated below:-
a) Provision of education, scholastic materials and bursaries to the poor in form of
school fees grants, scholastic materials, uniforms, school shoes and other educational
materials, moral and financial support to uplift the educational standards for Youth
drop out from school at all levels. b) Establish income generating activities to support and finance community activities
like vocational trainings. c) Provision of rehabilitation for street children and sensitizing the youth and advocacy
services for all in the communities
d) There will be a deliberate aim of carrying out activities that aim at empowering and
developing youth and street children tackling out limitations that lead to vulnerability
for example youth and street children shall be educated about HIV/AIDS, counseling
their roles in the society and moral uplift and mentoring programs. e) We engage in Advocacy in regard to social justice for child Abuse, economic
development and general welfare of living conditions for children in communities. The Executive Committee
This shall comprise the founding members and the key components shall include the
Chairperson who heads the office, secretary, Resources Controller, Advocacy Officer (s)
Liaison officers and ordinary members. The components of the Executive committee shall be elected by the membership of the

4.4 The Management Committee
This shall constitute the technical body of the organization, which shall comprise the office
of the Director and the heads of departments.
4.5 Departments
This shall comprise the heads of the five projects defined under key departments in article
two above. They shall be called project co-coordinators and shall be appointed by the Executive
Committee.
4.6 Members
All target people who shall benefit from Jesus Great is Development Foundation activities
shall automatically assume membership to the organization.

Core Values
¥ Transparency
Jesus is Great Development Foundation guarantees a transparent way of operating
with a proper accountability system, which implies a responsible management of
funding and community resources.
¥ Community participation
Jesus is Great Development Foundation believes that a sustainable community
empowerment can only be succeeded by community participation and ownership. Therefore the target community is involved in project design and implementation.
¥ Resource orientation
Jesus is Great Development Foundation approach implies a start from the available
community resources, regarding our target group as subjects with a wide range of
individual potentials and experts of their reality
¥ Social cohesion
Jesus is Great Development Foundation is working with a heterogenic target group
from different cultural and religious settings. Core value of our work approach are the
fundamental human rights, which regard every human being as equal, not regarding
their tribe, their religious believes or cultural norms. Current activities at the project:
Music and drama we do carry out music and drama lesion while educating the
children and develop their talents in the areas where we operate and this have
helped us to reduce the late of idleness among young people.
Sport since sport involves the development of talents use sports to change the
altitudes of the young people and also behaviour change and we have also
managed to get 17 scholarships for the children through sports.
Other games and competitions were also having games like the board games,
athletes plus other games in place.
We currently have the art and craft program whereby we do train the young
people paper beads crafts and the weaving program
We also distribute scholastic materials to the children in the communities
Biblical empowerment to the community members in Nansana. Planned activities 2014
Set up the or phage home for the children in Wakiso
To increase the word of God and reach out to the poor communities in Wakiso
District
To build the capacity of the youth children and the women in Uganda
To Develop professional leadership approach in the community
To increase awareness on the dangers of HIV/AIDS Drug abuse among the
youths in the slum community.
