We are proud to announce that OxyCare Uganda has been awarded the 2025 's prize.

This milestone marks a significant step forward in our mission to expand access to life-saving medical oxygen for children in underserved and remote communities.

With this support, OxyCare Uganda will design, install, and operationalize five solar-powered oxygen generation plants in high-volume neonatal intensive care units across the West Nile region. These plants will also serve as refilling hubs for surrounding health facilities, strengthening the entire oxygen ecosystem and ensuring reliable access where it is needed most.

This recognition reflects the dedication of our team, the trust of our partners, and the resilience of the communities we serve. Together, we are building sustainable solutions that will save lives today and for generations to come.

We remain committed to advancing equitable healthcare and ensuring that no child is denied oxygen when they need it most.

We are grateful to D-Prize for their early and continued support, which has been instrumental in enabling our journey and impact to this day. Piwun Solomon D-Prize Kalulu Peter Ministry of Health- Uganda Tony Abeka Anywarach 's Prize

🎉A Major Milestone for OxyCare Uganda and Kiwoko Hospital🎉
We’re excited to share that OxyCare Uganda has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hospital in Nakaseke District, marking a significant step forward in our mission to ensure uninterrupted access to medical oxygen across Uganda.
Through this partnership, OxyCare Uganda will serve as the hospital’s partner, mandated to conduct routine assessments, repairs, and maintenance of biomedical equipment, particularly oxygen concentrators, and enhance the capacity of biomedical/clinical staff. This collaboration reinforces our shared commitment to keeping life-saving oxygen equipment functional, reliable, and accessible, even in the most remote health facilities.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Kiwoko Hospital and the Adara Group for their unwavering dedication to saving lives and improving healthcare delivery in underserved communities. Your partnership and collaboration strengthen our collective goal of building resilient health systems where no patient goes without oxygen when they need it most.
This milestone not only reflects the impact and sustainability of our model, supported by D-Prize, but also underscores what’s possible when passionate teams unite around a shared purpose—to save lives. 💙

Strengthening Oxygen Access through Innovation: OxyCare Uganda Visits AFHIA Foundation Uganda
Last week, our team at OxyCare Uganda had the opportunity to visit the AFHIA Foundation Uganda to learn firsthand about the operations of the — a cutting-edge, solar-powered oxygen plant.
We were warmly welcomed by Dr. Michael Hawkes, John Kanyonyozi, and the incredible technical team, who took the time to explain in detail how the O2Cube system works to ensure a continuous and reliable oxygen supply, especially in facilities with limited grid power. Their expertise and dedication to strengthening oxygen access in underserved communities are truly inspiring.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the team for their hospitality and for sharing valuable insights that will support our ongoing mission to improve oxygen availability and biomedical capacity across Uganda.
At OxyCare Uganda, with support from the D-Prize, we remain committed to collaborating with innovators and partners who are shaping the future of medical oxygen systems — ensuring that lifesaving oxygen reaches every patient who needs it.

Enhancing Oxygen Care in Remote Hospitals to Save Lives
At OxyCare Uganda, we ensure patients receive safe and reliable medical oxygen.
🔧 Before repair: Many concentrators were performing below the 82% purity cut-off. Some even would not switch on (baseline purity estimated at zero).
âś… After repair: Most were restored to over 82% purity, fully meeting global standards.
📊 This turnaround shows how maintenance directly translates into lives saved, safer surgeries, and stronger health systems.
🙌 Thanks to our biomedical team, D-Prize, and other supporters—together, we’re breathing life into healthcare.

🔧🇺🇬 OxyCare Uganda Visit to Kiwoko Hospital – Ensuring Reliable Oxygen Access 🏥💨

As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening oxygen delivery systems across Uganda, OxyCare Uganda conducted a technical visit to Kiwoko Hospital to assess the functionality and condition of their oxygen concentrators.

During the visit, our team inspected several units, carried out performance evaluations, and worked closely with the hospital's biomedical staff to identify areas for maintenance and capacity building. The goal is clear: to ensure that every concentrator is fully operational and delivering oxygen safely and efficiently where it's most needed.

Kiwoko Hospital continues to play a crucial role in delivering essential healthcare, particularly in maternal, neonatal, and emergency care. We are proud to support their mission by enhancing the reliability of life-saving equipment.

At OxyCare Uganda, we believe no patient should be left without oxygen due to equipment failure. Our work is focused on building strong, sustainable systems for oxygen access throughout the country.

📍 Next steps: Technical follow-up, preventive maintenance planning, and ongoing support for biomedical staff.

🚨 Oxygen Access Crisis in the West Nile Region 🚨
Our recent findings show a stark reality:
- 14 out of 16 health facilities admitted they are facing serious issues with their oxygen supply system.
- Only 1 facility has a PSA plant.
- Just 4 facilities have access to wall oxygen

This highlights the urgent need for improved oxygen infrastructure in the region. The data underscores a critical gap that OxyCare Uganda is working hard to address. The health and lives of many, particularly vulnerable populations, depend on reliable access to oxygen.

Join us in our mission to improve oxygen access and support healthcare in underserved communities!

In this video, Mr. John, a hospital technician, shares the heartbreaking challenges of accessing medical oxygen in remote areas with the OxyCare Uganda team:
- Newborns at risk due to a lack of oxygen.
- Inability to refill oxygen cylinders due to high costs and long distances.
- Donated concentrators from COVID-19 are now in disrepair without proper maintenance.
- Forced to refer patients to other centers because of oxygen shortages.

At OxyCare Uganda, we’re stepping in to address these life-threatening challenges. We’re committed to improving access to medical oxygen, so no patient is left without the care they need.

Thank you to our partners like D-PrizeD-P for supporting this critical mission. Together, we are saving lives.
