Meet the TPEN Small Grants 2026 Grantees!
With continued financial support from The Waterloo Foundation and The Rabelais Trust, 20 TPEN organisations across 5 countries Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are advancing menstrual justice and contributing to Period Equality for All in East Africa.

From inclusive menstrual health education and youth leadership to WASH, advocacy, evidence generation and climate-smart solutions, these grassroots organisations are turning local action into lasting change.

Over the coming days, we will spotlight the 20 grantees and the change they are leading in their communities.

Through our menstrual health interventions under the PPS Project in Jinja and Iganga districts, we are strengthening girls' knowledge and confidence to manage menstruation with dignity while addressing barriers that affect their education and well-being.

Early findings from baseline assessments continue to reveal significant gaps in menstrual health knowledge, WASH facilities, and community attitudes, highlighting the critical need for sustained menstrual health programming.
The positive response from learners, teachers, and communities demonstrates growing acceptance and engagement, reinforcing the potential of these interventions to improve menstrual health and support girls to stay in school and complete their education. Irise

We are pleased to be attending The Bleeding Point: Young Women Leading Accountability for Menstrual Health & Mental Wellbeing in East and Southern Africa, hosted by For Social Justice and Development .

Through the Menstrual Justice Academy and with support from us, one of our alumni is leading a Political Economy Analysis on Menstrual Justice in Zambia.

Following a successful stakeholder engagement session, the initiative has now moved into the survey phase, generating evidence to inform an advocacy campaign launching in September.

Her advocacy message is clear: Menstrual Justice is more than sanitary pads; it is about dignity, rights, and ensuring everyone menstruates safely and without barriers.
