On a quiet evening in Kawempe Mbogo Zone, a little girl named Ayikoru was left behind with no explanation, no belongings, and no one to call her own. She was only about one year old — too young to understand why the arms that once carried her suddenly disappeared from her life.

According to reports, on 15th April 2024, a woman identified as Salome brought the child to the home of Dorothy Dricini in the company of Sida Shamira. What seemed like a temporary visit quickly turned into heartbreak. Salome vanished without trace, leaving the innocent child behind. Concerned for the baby’s safety and future, Dorothy immediately reported the matter to Kawempe Police Station, where the case was officially registered under Case No. SD 93/15/04/2024.

For days, little Ayikoru waited unknowingly for someone to return for her. But no one came.

A child so young should have been learning her first words in the warmth of a loving family, taking her first steps while being cheered on by parents, and sleeping peacefully knowing she was safe and protected. Instead, Ayikoru’s first memories became those of uncertainty, abandonment, and survival.

When all hope seemed lost, Heart to Heart Abandoned Kids' Home opened its doors and embraced her with love, protection, and dignity. The home became more than a shelter — it became the family she desperately needed. Here, Ayikoru found caregivers who held her when she cried, fed her when she was hungry, and reminded her every single day that her life still mattered.

Today, Ayikoru is growing under the care of Heart to Heart Abandoned Kids' Home. Like many abandoned and vulnerable children, she needs more than food and shelter. She needs healthcare, education, clothing, emotional support, and the opportunity to dream again. Her story represents thousands of children whose futures depend on the compassion of strangers willing to become part of their journey.

Heart to Heart Abandoned Kids' Home continues to stand as a refuge for children who have nowhere else to turn. However, caring for abandoned children requires constant support. The home faces daily challenges in providing milk, medical care, diapers, school supplies, safe accommodation, and emotional rehabilitation for every child rescued from neglect and abandonment.

Ayikoru’s story is painful, but it is also a story of hope.

It is proof that even when the world turns away from a child, love can still find them again through compassionate people and generous hearts. Every donation, sponsorship, partnership, or act of kindness becomes a lifeline that transforms fear into hope and abandonment into belonging.

We invite sponsors, donors, organizations, churches, and well-wishers to join hands with Heart to Heart Abandoned Kids' Home in restoring hope to children like Ayikoru.

Together, we can ensure that Ayikoru’s future is not defined by abandonment, but by love, opportunity, and hope.

Because every child deserves a family.
Every child deserves protection.
And every child deserves a chance to smile again.

On the morning of 2nd June 2025, a tiny baby girl, estimated to be only one and a half months old, was left alone at Kawaala Hospital.

GRACE’S STORY
It is said that her mother arrived carrying her precious baby and kindly asked another woman nearby to hold the child for a moment as she “went to buy a book.” Minutes turned into hours, but the mother never returned. The woman waited with hope, looking around again and again, praying she would come back for her little girl — but sadly, she never did.

At around 11:00am, the helpless baby was taken to Kawaala Police Station for safety. From there, she was brought to Heart to Heart Abandoned Kids’ Home, where we welcomed her with love, care, and open arms. We named her Grace — because despite being abandoned, her life is a testimony of God’s grace and protection.

Today, Grace depends entirely on the kindness of compassionate people for survival. She needs milk, diapers, medical care, clothing, shelter, and most importantly, the love and security every child deserves.

While her story began with heartbreak, we believe it does not have to end there. Together, we can give Grace a future filled with hope, joy, and opportunity.

Your donation or sponsorship can help provide:
1. Baby milk and feeding supplies
2. Diapers, clothes, and daily essentials
3. Medical care and vaccinations
4. Safe shelter and loving care
5. A chance for Grace to grow up healthy and protected

No child deserves to be abandoned. Yet through your support, Grace can experience the love of a family through people who choose to care.

Please stand with Grace today. Your generosity can change her life forever.

AZAIAH’S STORY

On 11th November 2024, a helpless baby boy only 5 months old was found abandoned alone in Nakulabye, Kiyaye Zone 1. No mother. No father. No one by his side. Just a tiny child left to face the world alone.

Concerned neighbors quickly called Uganda Police Force, who responded swiftly and rescued this precious little boy. He was later brought to Heart to Heart Abandoned Kids Home, where he was given safety, love, and a second chance at life.

Today, Aziah is smiling again. He is growing in a caring environment, surrounded by people who love him. But children like Aziah still need daily support for milk, food, clothing, medical care, diapers, and a safe home.

💙 You can be part of Aziah’s miracle.
Your donation—big or small—can help provide the care every abandoned child deserves.

🙏 Give hope. Give love. Give a future.

AMELIANA’S STORY 💔

On 3rd December 2025, a helpless baby girl of only 8 months old was brought to us through Kawempe Police Station. Her tiny body was weak and wasted, showing clear signs of severe malnutrition. Painful rashes covered her delicate skin, and her eyes carried the silent cry of a child who had suffered too much, too soon.

She had been abandoned in Bwaise Zone, Kawempe, Kampala — left alone without love, warmth, or protection. Thankfully, a kind-hearted man, Abdullah Sentamu, found her and rushed her to safety at Kawempe Police Station.

From there, the Office of Child and Family referred little Ameliana to Heart to Heart Abandoned kid’s Home, where she could finally receive the care and protection every child deserves.

Today, Ameliana is safe, but her journey to healing has only just begun. She needs nutritious food, medical care, clothing, and the love of people willing to stand in the gap for her.

💛 You can be the reason Ameliana smiles again.
Your donation, no matter how small, can help restore hope to this innocent child and give her a future filled with love instead of pain.

🙏 Please donate today and help us give Ameliana the second chance she deserves. https://hearttoheartug.org/donate/

A Word from God for You:“Do not be afraid, little one.
I see you when you feel alone.
I hold your heart when it hurts.
I am your safe place, your strong Father,
and I will never leave you.
You are Mine, and you are loved —
today, tomorrow, and forever.”(Inspired by Psalm 27:10, Psalm 68:5, and Isaiah 41:10)
