As Africans, individuality does not count. Personal success and achievement means nothing. Our strengths stems largely from the bonds of kinship and connections of relatedness through blood, pact or neighbourhood. A case in point is the list of persons one could acknowledge as mother beyond the birth mother
1. The birth mother
2. Her sisters
3. Great (Grand)Mother
4. Fathers Spouses
5. Spouses of fathers brothers
6. All Clanswomen from ones Mothers Clan
And as Africans... We are all children of a mother... Everyone born of this line of mothers instantly becomes your brother or sister.
For instance even of we subscribe to different clans, or cultural communities... From the mome t we realise our mothers are of the same clan, kinship is automatic and instantaneous. Let's be intentional in exploring the possibility of our relatedness and a world of peace and love could be a real possibility .
