Transparency International Uganda (TIU) is the national chapter of Transparency International - the global coalition against corruption. It is a registered Non-Governmental Organization with the Uganda NGO Board and has been promoting good governance programmes in Uganda since 1993. The organization works to create change towards a Uganda free of corruption and its effects. It has national jurisdi

ction and promotes good governance (transparency, integrity and accountability) with specific emphasis on health, education, water, private sector, extractive industry, and political corruption. As a member of the global movement anticorruption movement, TIU is an active contributor to the TI strategic goals namely, promotion of national anti-corruption reform through concrete research and action, increasing the understanding of the link between corruption and poverty, empowering communities to demand accountable governance and promoting continual institutional development. TI Uganda was founded in 1993 as a pressure group to bring together peoples voluntary initiatives to enhance accountability transparency and integrity among all Ugandans. The organisation has since grown from a mere pressure group whose membership largely was largely composed of lawyers and eminent Ugandans to an autonomous Nongovernmental organisation registered with the Uganda NGO board. The organisation was accredited in 1996 as the National Chapter in Uganda to Transparency International whose headquarters are in Berlin Germany.

' meeting to discuss issues of climate financing and Climate Justice.
According to available data, Africa has been able to realise only about 23% of her total NDCs. Unfortunately, the Sub-Saharan region is not among the highest contributors to climate change but immensely affected. Major challenges to effective realization of climate financing include the growing public debt, limited involvement of private sector in mobilizing financing as well as poor coordination.
Uganda should therefore amplify efforts in driving community-led mitigation and adaptation mechanisms, Mobilise national and international resources and ensure climate financing is effectively allocated and utilized.
