Gender and economic Development Organisation

Gender and economic Development Organisation GEDO Despite gender being a key to sustainable economic growth and development, it has been under looked by very many growing economies including Uganda.

Gender and economic development organisation (GEDO) has been formed basing on factual research surveys, consultations, contributions of stake holders in struggle for finding long time solution to the going poverty and unsustainable economic management. The nature and role of gender can never be underestimated literally because the effects of the inequality are unbelievable higher and a bigger cos

t to nation’s development (Mutebi, 2010). Whilst all stake holders have a considerable role to pray in economic development, most of the other groups have dominated and covered the appreciations of role played by others. For example, as a prerequisite for economic freedom, Uganda needs to appreciate every one’s role in the growth pattern and as such provide a conducive environment for the contained growth to increase sustainably. The nature of school recruitment can clearly explain the gender problem Uganda stands. Gender insensitive budgeting, professional imbalances and unequal employment opportunities will still put Uganda in hard times in the future. It has been because of the need to address gender issues affecting Economic Development that GEDO bases its foundation.
