Accountability is essential. Organizations must implement systems that protect survivors and hold offenders responsible. Harassment thrives when there’s no accountability. Media houses must act to ensure that perpetrators face real consequences.

Today, on the International Day for Persons with Disabilities, we reaffirm our commitment to creating an inclusive media landscape where everyone’s voice is heard and valued.

In our recent activities, we have worked tirelessly to support persons with disabilities in media through initiatives such as:
✔️ Collaborating with journalists to amplify stories of disability rights and inclusion.
✔️ Supporting the creation of media platforms, such as SignsTV, dedicated to ensuring accessibility for persons with hearing impairments.
✔️ Hosting conversations at events like the Uganda Media Week to address disability inclusion in media narratives and newsroom practices.

We stand in solidarity with persons with disabilities and believe that inclusive storytelling not only challenges stereotypes but also strengthens our society.

Together, let’s continue working towards a media industry where diversity and inclusion thrive.
