"Youths Leading Urban Adaptation and Kampala Climate Action Plan- Cities We Want," the discussion will bring together youth leaders, climate advocates, and development practitioners to explore how young people can drive inclusive urban resilience and climate solutions.

At WOLI, we believe that women and young people are not just beneficiaries of climate action they are leaders, innovators, and decision-makers whose voices must shape the future of our cities.

Every girl deserves to learn, grow, and thrive without shame or barriers caused by menstruation.

As we concluded our menstrual health and hygiene outreach at Age Primary School #, we were inspired by the confidence, curiosity, and courage shown by the adolescent girls who participated. Their questions, stories, and willingness to learn remind us that providing accurate menstrual health information is not just education it is empowerment.

At Women's Love Initiative-WOLI, we believe that no girl should miss school, lose confidence, or face discrimination because of her period. But this mission cannot be achieved alone.

We call upon parents, teachers, community leaders, partners, and well-wishers to join us in ending period stigma and period poverty. Together, we can ensure that every girl has access to menstrual health education, safe sanitation, and affordable menstrual products so she can stay in school and achieve her full potential.

We are beyond excited to share that we joined forces with Femme Forte and an incredible lineup of partners this past Friday, June 26th, for the inception meeting of the P.O.W.E.R. (People and Organizations Working for Equality and Rights) project!

Bringing together advocates, changemakers, and community leaders , we spent the day mapping out strategies to advance gender equality, protect human rights, and drive sustainable community development.

The energy was electric, and the commitment in the room was unmatched. When we unite, we amplify.

End Period Poverty Campaign in Nakivale Refugee Settlement

Women's Love Initiative (WOLI) is raising UGX 10,000,000 (approximately USD 2,700) to combat period poverty among adolescent girls in Nakivale Refugee Settlement. Through this campaign, we will train girls to make reusable sanitary pads, equipping them with lifelong skills, improving menstrual hygiene, and keeping them in school.

We welcome both financial contributions and in-kind donations, including sewing machines, fabrics, sewing kits, sanitary products, and other materials needed for reusable pad production and menstrual hygiene support.

Every contribution helps restore dignity, promote health, and create opportunities for girls to thrive. Together, we can ensure that no girl is held back by her period.

We joined partners in a multi-stakeholder dialogue organized by Network for Active Citizens Uganda to review the Kampala Climate Action Strategy. We reflected on progress, identified priorities, and worked to ensure young people’s perspectives of all genders are truly integrated into Kampala’s climate action agenda.

We also asked government to dedicate city budget lines for youth-led, gender-responsive climate initiatives with transparent reporting on how funds reach young changemakers.

The time to act is now and no young person, regardless of gender, should be left out of shaping Kampala’s climate future.
