Uganda Society for Disabled Children has fully been represented by the MEAL Officer at the 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐈 𝐔𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟐𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝟐𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐚𝐭 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥.

The two-day workshop has equipped participants with;
1. Practical skills in Documenting Programme Implementation, Generating Quality Evidence, Developing Case Studies and Change Stories and Communicating Impact Effectively.

2. Participants have also engaged in Peer Learning, Experience Sharing and Practical Exercises aimed at strengthening organizational Learning and Accountability.

Uganda Society for Disabled Children, we recognize the importance of Evidence-Based Programming in Advancing Inclusive Education and Improving the lives of children and youth with disabilities.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝘂𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁

Uganda Society for Disabled Children organized community outreaches from 1st - 4th June 2026 in Kikyusa and Makulubita sub‑counties to support children and youth with disabilities.

Trained health workers were part of the initiative and their role was;
✅ Assess and identify disabilities.
✅ Provide guidance and basic management.
✅ Refer children for specialized rehabilitation and therapy services.

66 children and youth with disabilities were assessed, referral systems were strengthened to ensure families access the right support closer to home.

Today, Uganda Society for Disabled Children has held a bi-annual meeting with Sheema district stakeholders to promote inclusive education for every child especially children with disabilities.

Today’s discussions focused on:
1. Sharing what we have achieved so far in the Strengthening Public Accountability and Investment in Education (SPAIE) Project.
2. Strengthening advocacy for inclusive schools.
3. Planning how to sustain these efforts into the future.

Together with leaders, educators and community members, we are building a future where every child has equal access to quality education.

Uganda Society for Disabled Children is training the 4 Parent Support Groups in the Sub-counties of Makulubita and Kikyusa (Luweero District) on Village Saving and Loans Associations (VSLAs), Business Skills and financial Management.
This training is aimed at;
* Strengthening the social economic well-being of households having children and youth with disabilities.
* Linking PSGs to the existing government projects within their sub-counties and other service providers.
* Enhancing their capacity in making well developed Business Plans.

Uganda Society for Disabled Children and Katalemwa Cheshire Home conducted a training for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities in Nakivale Refugee Settlement.
The training equipped 69 caregivers and parents with practical basic rehabilitation skills to support functional independence of children with disabilities.

Uganda Society for Disabled Children in partnership with Kyambogo University is excited to announce that admissions are now open at the Early Childhood Learning and Assessment Centre (ECLAC), Located at Faculty of Special Needs and Rehabilitation, Kyambogo University, Uganda.

The centre offers Early Childhood Development (ECD) learning using the pre-school curriculum, referrals to specialized service providers, counselling and guidance for parents and caregivers, Early Assessments and Individualized Education Plans (IEP). Overall, we offer an Inclusive learning environment for all children

Last week, the Uganda Society for Disabled Children Council of Management came together for a retreat to reflect, align, and strengthen their governance commitments.
During the retreat, the Council reviewed the Board Charter and reaffirmed the shared responsibility to uphold strong corporate governance practices.

We look forward to the continued strategic direction and guidance of our Council of Management as we work together to a more inclusive society where children and youth with disabilities thrive.
