📖✨International Literacy Day

Today we celebrate the power of literacy; and the life-changing power of financial literacy.

Because knowing how to read is important.
Knowing how to manage money, save, invest and grow a business? That’s freedom.

At IFRAD, we believe every young person and woman in Uganda deserves both.
Through practical training, VSLAs, business skills and enterprise support, we’re helping entrepreneurs turn knowledge into income and income into lasting change.

Financial literacy isn’t just numbers.
It’s confidence.
It’s dignity.
It’s the key to economically enterprising and peaceful communities. 💪🇺🇬

This Literacy Day, we’re recommitting to equipping more youth and women with the skills to read their financial future clearly.

Women building wealth, one weekly meeting at a time 💪✨

Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) are changing the game for women entrepreneurs.

No fancy banks. No complicated paperwork. Just groups of women pooling small savings, supporting each other and accessing flexible loans to grow their businesses; from market stalls and farms to tailoring shops and food businesses.

What starts as a few coins becomes:
📈 New income streams
🏠 Greater decision-making power at home
📚 Better futures for their children
🌟 Real confidence and independence

This is what economic empowerment looks like on the ground. Quiet. Powerful. Community-driven.

Celebrating the enterprising women making it happen this 🌍

🌟 Happy International Youth Day! 🌟
Today we celebrate young people under the theme
“Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.”
From Northern Uganda to West Nile and beyond, our youth face different realities, but share the same dreams:
✨ Dignity
✨ Opportunity
✨ Decent work
✨ A better future
At IFRAD Uganda, we’re proud to walk alongside young entrepreneurs and change-makers every day. Through skills training, entrepreneurship support, and market linkages, we’re helping turn those shared aspirations into real impact.
To every young person grinding, innovating, and leading in your community; we see you. We believe in you. You are the future we’re building with.
Different contexts. Common aspirations. Shared progress. 💪🇺🇬

Trust that Became Capital 🌾

In Kigumba, Uganda, one determined farmer is rewriting what’s possible.

Mungali Edward, leader of the Hakuna Kulala VSLA, took a soft loan from his group, planted rice, and is now building toward his dream; a grain produce store to support local farmers.

No sleeping on opportunities. Just hard work, trust, and collective growth. 💪

Hakuna Kulala = No Sleeping 🔥
