One of the emerging challenges is the task of mentoring a new generation of young people with adequate knowledge and information that could help them sustain their future. The proposed National Youth Summit is aimed at mentoring a select group of Secondary School Youths to attain their potentials individually as well as assisting their communities and country attain socio-economic development. Thi
s will be done through learning and exposure that will stimulate responsiveness to their challenges. The summit also aims at availing young people in the country the opportunity to imbibe leadership culture and develop attitudes that promote sustainable livelihoods through capacity building in areas that directly impact on or are of interest to them. The summit also seeks to entrench mechanisms for youth empowerment and productive engagement. The outcome will be relevant for immediate and long-term impacts on youth development, positive social changes, and community-based initiatives that facilitate internal mechanisms for addressing the needs of the youth.
