We are Uganda's leading youth NGO, on a mission to put young people at the heart of decision-making.

AYDL seeks to provide a link for connecting all young people and development policy processes in Uganda so that we are each part of something larger than ourselves. We strive to promote young people's active, responsible and continuing participation in local and global development. We work to create a socially inclusive environment where all young people are engaged, informed and inspired to take on the challenges in their development processes as the route to achieving their ambitions and dreams, through focused youth mentoring, policy advocacy and engagement, knowledge and information sharing as well as skills development.

This year’s theme is “What’s Next for Democracy? Innovation and Alliances in a Changing World.”

It’s a reminder that democracy isn’t something we can take for granted. It needs fresh ideas, strong partnerships, and most importantly you. Every voice, every vote, every act of participation keeps democracy alive and moving forward.

Let’s keep building a democracy that works for everyone. 💪

Last week, we held a validation meeting for the Rapid Needs Assessment to identify key needs, gaps, and opportunities for youth organizations mobilizing for gender justice & human rights.

A big thank you to all participants for lending their voices and experiences to this critical process.Together, we're building a stronger movement. 💪

Yesterday, we had a co-creation session and the privilege of bringing together storytellers, leaders, activists, content creators, and communications specialists as we prepare for the 2026 around the theme: "Unite to End Violence Against Women and Girls: Ensure justice, protect survivors, end impunity."

We talked openly about Gender-Based Violence in our communities. The kind we see online and the kind we see offline. We looked at who we need to reach, what messages might stick, and how we can use digital platforms to push for real change through our upcoming social media campaign during the 16 Days of Activism.

Grateful to everyone who showed up ready to build. Let's make this count. 💪🏾
