African Youth Development Link (AYDL)

African Youth Development Link (AYDL) We are Uganda's leading youth NGO, on a mission to put young people at the heart of decision-making.

AYDL seeks to provide a link for connecting all young people and development policy processes in Uganda so that we are each part of something larger than ourselves. We strive to promote young people's active, responsible and continuing participation in local and global development. We work to create a socially inclusive environment where all young people are engaged, informed and inspired to take

on the challenges in their development processes as the route to achieving their ambitions and dreams, through focused youth mentoring, policy advocacy and engagement, knowledge and information sharing as well as skills development.

The 2026/27 Budget isn't just a document, it's a promise to Uganda's youth majority. πŸ’ͺ

Today, AYDL launches its Budget Call to Action.

Young people aren't asking for special treatment😏 we're demanding fair investment in our future.

We want: jobs, quality skills, financing, markets, innovation, inclusion for young women & PwDs, and a real seat at the governance table.

Leaders from Parliament to local governments, it's time to deliver tangible change, not just rhetoric. We're watching.

To every African child, We see you. We believe in you. We fight for you.πŸ’ͺ🏼

The children of Soweto taught us that young voices can change the world. Today, a new generation is rising demanding clean water, safe toilets, and the basic hygiene every child needs to grow, learn, and dream.

πŸ’™ Your rights matter.
πŸ’™ Your voice matters.

AYDL joined Uganda's Youth MPs for Eastern, Central, and Western Uganda, Hon (State Minister-designate for Youth and Children Affairs), and Hon (Kasanda South MP) at a National Breakfast Meeting organized by Sensitive Uganda to discuss the Youth Legislative Agenda.

We shared key priorities from the National Youth Manifesto 2026–2031 to help shape a responsive legislative and advocacy agenda that reflects the aspirations of Uganda's young people.

Today we remember the Uganda Martyrs, who faced unbearable suffering yet refused to abandon their faith. Their courage wasn't loud, it was rooted deep, stronger than fear and stronger than pain. They walked through fire and stood firm. They chose conviction over comfort, and hope over surrender.

May their legacy remind us that true strength isn't about never falling πŸ‘Œit's about never giving up on what you believe.

Happy Martyr's Day! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬

This June, we pause to remind you of something easy to forget in the noise of growing up:

πŸ‘‰ You are capable.
πŸ‘‰ You are enough and one more thing:
Be the light your younger self needed. ✨

That younger version of you is still cheering you on. This month, choose kindness over comparison, progress over perfection, and rest over burnout.
