Join us today to congratulate Mr. Elie Satira following his graduation from Firstline University in Turkey, where he earned a degree in Business Administration at the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences. Mr. Elie served at Solidarity Eden Foundation from July to August 2025 as part of his study internship, flying in from Turkey to Uganda and started working with us at the intersection of refugee vocational and business training, monitoring and evaluation, while supporting communications and stakeholder engagements.
After his internship, he reflected and shared with us about his experience supporting the creation of hope for refugees, particularly women: "My experience working with Solidarity Eden Foundation was highly positive and enriching, both professionally and personally. From the beginning, the quality of communication was clear, respectful, and supportive. Before the internship started, I received sufficient information regarding expectations, roles, and the organization’s mission, which helped me feel prepared. During the internship, communication remained consistent, with supervisors and team members being approachable, open to questions, and willing to provide guidance when needed... Regarding my sense of comfort, I felt welcomed and respected within the team. The working environment was inclusive and supportive, which made it easier to adapt and contribute. At the same time, the internship pushed me beyond my comfort zone in a positive way. I was encouraged to take initiative, engage with community members, participate in events, and contribute to real projects. These experiences helped me build confidence, improve my communication skills, and develop a more proactive attitude. Overall, my time at Solidarity Eden Foundation was meaningful and transformative. It provided me with practical skills, valuable insights into community development work, and a deeper understanding of social responsibility."
