Help Africa

Help Africa Help Africa supports orphans and other vulnerable children in Uganda through provision of quality ed Thank you for taking a minute to visit our page.

With the help of generous people around the world, Help Africa to;

Provide opportunity for education among the poor children.

- Provide academic materials that enable rural and slum schools to compete favorably with urban schools.

- Adopt a culture of knowledge sharing and information management across schools and communities.

- Providing the children with practical social skills for personal

development. Through this platform, the children are able to not only communicate with their sponsors, but also to express themselves and share advice globally. A new and unique system called The Triangle = local family-child-sponsor family. Help Africa is founded by Danish Kim Madsen. It is estimated that more than two million children in Uganda are orphans as a result of loosing parents due to fatal diseases like AIDS, Malaria and other infections. The purpose of Help Africa is to give children in need money to pay the boarding school fee and to give a grant to its poor family if the child has a family. If he or she does not have a family the money will go to a qualified foster family to secure a good home instead of living in an orphanage. Help Africa has two employees working from the office in the centre of Kampala, Uganda and also an accountant. They make sure that the foster families and the schools every month get the money from the sponsors and they make sure that the children are well taken care of by the foster families.

Our choir children are joyfully engaging in cultural dance practice, learning and celebrating the beauty of our traditions through music and movement. These sessions are not only helping them improve their dancing skills, but also building confidence, teamwork, discipline, and cultural pride.

Through cultural dances, the children are able to express themselves creatively while preserving the rich heritage of our communities for future generations. It is always inspiring to see their energy, happiness, and dedication during practice sessions.

Today, we were blessed to host Rotarian Ivan Mulumba, the President of the Rotary Club of Rubaga Lake View, who spoke to our children about the importance of reading and writing. He encouraged them to speak audibly and confidently, maintain eye contact with their audience while reading, and understand that reading increases their knowledge and helps them improve their English skills.

It was an inspiring and motivational session through which the children learnt the value of reading stories and how it can positively shape their future.

Thank you so much, President Ivan Mulumba, for taking the time to speak to and inspire these young people. Your words of encouragement truly made a difference.

From the remote island of Buyiga to a brighter future filled with hope — this is the true impact of sponsorship and love.

Christine’s life has greatly changed because Frans chose not only to sponsor her, but also to truly care for her. Through regular visits, encouragement, love, and support, she has gained confidence, happiness, and hope for a better future.

We are deeply grateful to Frans for going the extra mile and even offering accommodation for Christine in Kampala. Such kindness and commitment continue to transform lives in ways words cannot fully express. Christine and Esther are both very happy, and their lives have been positively impacted through this beautiful relationship of care and support.

Sponsor visits mean so much to children. They remind them that they are loved, valued, and not forgotten. The memories created during these visits stay with them for a lifetime and inspire them to keep dreaming big.

To Frans and all sponsors who take time to visit, encourage, and support children in our communities — thank you. Your love, presence, and generosity are creating real change and giving hope to many children and families.

Today, Some of our children spent time in the library reading storybooks and the impact is truly powerful.

Through reading, they are discovering new worlds, ideas, and dreams.

Reading helps Improve their reading and communication skills, Grow their imagination and creativity, Build confidence and critical thinking, Develop empathy by understanding different characters and stories.

For many of these children, the library is more than just a room with books, it is a safe space to learn, dream, and believe in a brighter future.

By encouraging a reading culture, we are shaping confident, informed, and inspired young minds who can change their communities for the better.

Together, let’s continue to support access to books and learning opportunities for every child.

A Dream on hold… but not lost Fellisha Nanyonjo is just 17 years old, yet she carries responsibilities far beyond her age. As the eldest of 7 children, she has always tried to stay strong for her family, even when life hasn’t been easy.

Her sponsorship ended earlier this year and with it, her chance to stay in school.

Now, as a new school term approaches on 25th this month, Fellisha is at risk of being left behind, not because she doesn’t want to learn, but because she simply doesn’t have the support.

Imagine watching your dreams pause while others move forward…
Imagine having the ability, the determination, but no opportunity…

That is Fellisha’s reality right now.

But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

You can change her story.
You can put her back in class.
You can give her hope again.

Your sponsorship will not just pay school fees, it will restore dignity, rebuild confidence, and reopen a future that is slowly slipping away.

🙏 Please sponsor Fellisha today and help her return to school. Sign up today by clicking on the link https://helpafrica.foundation/sponsor-a-child/re-sponsoring-a-child?view=article&id=247:nanyonjo-fellisha&catid=35

Buyiga Island Project – Building Hope, Creating Futures

Dear friends,
We are excited to share an important step forward in our journey at Buyiga Island.

We have begun the renovation of old buildings to create a safe, stable, and long-term home for the children living on the island. These spaces will not only provide shelter, but also dignity, security, and a true sense of belonging for every child.
At the same time, we are proud to have launched a Creative Workshop Program — a space where children can learn and grow through:

Painting and art
Artistic cake creation
Sewing
Craftsmanship
These skills are more than just activities — they are tools for empowerment, helping children discover their talents, build confidence, and prepare for a brighter, independent future.

However, we cannot do this alone.
We are reaching out to you to support this transformation. Your contribution will go directly towards:
✔️ Renovating and equipping safe living spaces
✔️ Providing materials for the creative workshops
✔️ Supporting the children’s daily needs

Every contribution, big or small, brings us one step closer to changing a life.
Join us in building not just structures, but dreams.

If you would like to support or partner with us, please reach out or donate using the link below

Every girl deserves to feel safe, confident in every single day of the month.

We provided sanitary pads to girls in Katanga community, ensuring that their menstrual days are no longer filled with fear, discomfort, or missed opportunities.

Access to these essential supplies means they can stay in school, participate freely, and focus on building their future without interruption.

For many of these girls, something as simple as a sanitary pad becomes a powerful tool for confidence, health, and hope. It restores dignity and reminds them that they are seen, valued, and supported.
