On 23rd March 2026, Might foundation held an online meeting with 15 participants representing diverse organizations of PWDs in Uganda on amending Uganda's definition of disability under the 2020 Persons With Disability Act.

The meeting was focused on amending the definition of disability in Uganda, so that it is inclusive of Lupus , arthritis and other non visible disabilities, additionally participants proposed that the definition is amended to include psychosocial disability, epilepsy, , autism and ADHD as neurological disabilities, contrary to the current definition that puts them under mental disability.

key quotes and highlights;
1. "my lupus is not considered a disability because it is invisible".
2. " let's first amend it, then fight for implementation".

The discussion highlighted the need to move beyond the medical model of disability and adopt the social and human rights model of disability that ensures equal participation for all PWDs.

On 4th March 2026, Might foundation continued its participation in the People Powered convening program in Nairobi.

We attended a helpful session on No money, no progress; confronting funding challenges head on, where we learned how to handle funding challenges, how to write better proposals and improve our pitch writing. We also joined the session on what comes after design, which guided us on how to revise and strengthen action plans.

A special highlight was when our co-executive director presented and pitched our participatory democracy project, which will be implemented in Uganda.

We ended the day by celebrating our inclusive democracy journey, regional meet ups and networking. It was inspiring, energizing and a beautiful moment of connection.

On 3rd March 2026, Might foundation attended day 2 of the People Powered convening program in Nairobi. The program was filled with learning workshops organized by the people powered team.

One key session was 'How to keep the lights on to do democracy work, organizational resilience in times of change', during this session, they gave practical advice on how organizations can stay strong during funding cuts, shrinking civic space, misinformation, the rise of AI, and other challenges. The session also offered helpful ways to plan for change.

We also joined the workshop on No money, No progress? which focused on managing funding challenges and another on strategies for inclusive digital participation.

It was a valuable learning experience that will help strengthen our work and impact.

Might foundation is attending the People Powered Convening Program in Kenya, on 2nd March 2026 they visited the konkuey Design Initiative (KDI) at the Kibera Public space.

The project turns slums in wetlands into a green public space, children's playground and women led craft business. During the visit we learnt how KDI is using citizens assembly to address wetland and slum challenges.

It was an inspiring experience and a great opportunity to understand how community-led design can improve lives.
