❤️ From a living room in the Netherlands... to the hearts of children in Uganda ❤️
Meet Mrs. Ymkje de Boer, an extraordinary 98-year-old lady from the Netherlands.
Almost every day, she sits quietly at home with her knitting needles and colourful yarn, lovingly making sweaters for children she has never met.
She doesn't know their names. She doesn't know where they live. She simply knows that somewhere, a child could use a little warmth.
Thanks to her daughter Letizia, who lives in Kampala, ten of these beautiful handmade sweaters recently reached the children supported by the Mulago Hill Health Foundation at the Cancer Care Home in Mulago Hospital, Kampala.
Each sweater is unique, just like every child who now wears one. Every stitch tells a story of patience, generosity and love.
Mrs. Ymkje reminds us that making a difference doesn't always require great wealth or grand gestures. Sometimes, it begins with a pair of knitting needles, a few balls of wool, and a heart that never stops caring.
It is amazing to think that hands nearly a century old can bring so much warmth and happiness to children thousands of kilometres away.
Dear Madam Ymkje, thank you for reminding us that kindness has no age, no borders, and no limits!
